Looks like you get the greens under control and you put some very solid numbers up! Congrats! We're they lightning?

They weren't crazy fast, just faster than I was accustomed to. I just couldn't read them and I couldn't get one to fall. Quite a few hard lip outs and many burned edges.

Golf had to take a backseat the last few weeks.

After one of my Missouri Amateur rounds, I actually interviewed with a law firm in Kansas City. In the last three weeks, I have interviewed, received an offer, accepted an offer, moved 3 hours, and started my new job.

I joined a club here in town, and have had the chance to play with another club member and GolfWRX member, tnord.

With the move and the Fourth of July holiday, I didn't pick up a club for 9 days. I was itching to get back on the range, but I think it was good for me. My swing is still in pretty good shape, just a big pull-hook miss away from some great rounds.

Just said goodbye to Dan and jumped back on the road. Expect a review of our great experience when we both get back home ... sometime tomorrow afternoon.

Q was STRIPING it.... On the range....

You put some trees and water in front of him and the legs start shaking a bit, the wheels upstairs start spinning too fast, and it's army golf.

Tembolo aren't you a sports psychologist?

I kid. He had a couple of squirrelly wedges but everything else was pretty spot on. However, his inferior equipment is really putting a hindrance on his putting ability.

If you have been reading much of this thread, you know I've been working with Dan for a few months. If you haven't been reading, I had exchanged some personal messages with Dan in April and then did one SwingFix video in May. It was invaluable information, and I was able to make progress towards what I should be doing. Still, I felt I needed to see the man himself. I had an idea of what it should look like but didn't know what it should feel like.

Chase is a mini-tour pro that I met a year and a half ago. He had been working with Dan before I started with him, was hitting it well, and he would help me with some of the concepts. Still, he needed a refresher and I needed to go directly to the source. We decided we were going to roadtrip.

We met on Thursday evening and headed towards Jacksonville. 19 hours and 17 Dr Peppers later, we checked in to the hotel.

We had planned on spending the entire next day with Dan. He was kind enough to fit us in for an hour on the day we arrived. We were able to quickly get our initial video, upload and analyze it, and get out to the range to hit a few balls to see/feel what we should work on. This was big for me. Then, the next day I could spend trying to ingrain that feel under Dan's watchful eye.

Chase and I were coming from two entirely different patterns but were trying to go to the same place. Chase was very "under" with his right arm bent too long. I didn't have enough right arm bend in front of my body.

Dan had spotted my problem before, but I had trouble implementing it. I am admittedly difficult as there are certain feels that I just hate to do during a golf swing. A lot of those deal with the right wrist, elbow, and shoulder. I knew I needed to get my right elbow more "pitch" or in front or however you want to describe it, but I hated the idea of consciously thinking about doing it. Actually, listening to Dan talk to Chase about his feels is when the light bulb went on for me. Chase was a little too collapsed against his body and Dan wanted him to feel his left arm out like a karate chop at impact. That left arm feel was golden for me. If I thought that, with a low right shoulder, my right elbow would have to work into the correct spot.

The weather turned out great for us. It rained for about 30-45 minutes each day, but it worked out perfect as times to review video or check out Dan's new indoor facility. Speaking of which, it is awesome. Dan is building a pretty special place there, and I'm very jealous. Right now, he has two nice hitting bays set up. He is about to put in a 300 sq. ft. putting green, third hitting hay, 50" TV and couch. Out back, he has access to a 180-yard field and plans on turning it into his own private range.

Hitting_Bay_jpg.jpg

Dan is very tech savvy. He knows Trackman inside and out, but doesn't allow it to dominate his teaching. During our trip to his indoor facility, I was able to jump on to check my numbers for a few clubs. Driver was pretty close to ideal. Here is 7i:

When the rain let up, we heading back to Hidden Hills to play 18. As anyone knows, it is tough to play "golf swing" on the course. I didn't care at all about my score. I hit some VERY squirrely shots, and then would follow that up with some of the best shots I've ever hit. I could have scraped it around for a better score, but I wanted to get as much time in working on this "swing" with Dan as I could. Speaking of which, Dan has one of the best short games I've ever seen. "I had to learn how to get up and down out of a garbage can."

This trip was invaluable. I knew what I should be striving for, but I had no idea how to get there or how it should feel. I can't wait to return. I'm saving cash and Dr. Pepper as we speak.

Tembo Q and I tag teamed the hat/sock game. I refuse to wear long socks and Q forgot his bucket hat so we did the best we could!

Sorry to break it to you sir but they don't make socks long enough for them to be long on you. My pants could be used as your socks.

Dead f'n straight.
Dan said as I continue to get shallower in transition I may see a little overdraw and need to flatten clubs a hair but nothing crazy.

I wish I would have known Dan when he was in SD, if I ever go to his part of the country I would jump all over it!

Nice swings!!! Why are his videos always so grainy looking? Are they shot from a phone or something?

Just hang out with Kekoa he should help you out hehe.

Do you think my dan vidoes look grainy?

Your video's remind me of "The most Interesting Man in The World" videos that are supposed to look like they were shot in the 70's in South America. So yes they look grainy...

Awesome. There is no substitute for going to see the Wizard in person. I know I can send him video and he could tell me exactly what I need to do, but I just can't do it myself nearly as good, fast, or easy as when he is standing there with Casio in hand. I appreciate the pics of the new building too. Nice to see it is moving along as planned. I imagine the next time I go down we will be in the building as it probably will not be until December or so.

As for hitting it "squirrely" on the course, trust me, you couldn't have hit it where I did when I took my "new" swing thoughts to the course, all 48 of them.

Nice work.

You don't want to see lv_2_hack's numbers. I believe Dan said his 7i SS was 99 mph! He is incredibly tall, incredibly flexible, and incredibly athletic. What I'm saying, he hits it incredibly far. I'm above PGA Tour averages, and he makes me feel like I should be playing from the old man tees.
