Any hardcore golf book collectors on here? What is the definition of hardcore? You tend to purchase old out of print golf books. Right now I am focusing on club histories with recent purchases of these courses...

LA Country Club - added

Ocean Forest - added

East Lake - added

Burning Tree

At some point I will add Olympic Club(added),Pine Valley(added), Yeamans Hall(added),and Merion(added). Not to mention some Darwin, Wodehouse, etc.

Any other collectors on here?

Used bookstore find. $3 for a book from 1912.

Nice pickup today. About a 3rd printing. At some point I am gonna get Bryson to sign this. Would totally make sense.

I had Ben Doyle sign my copy in 1979 when I lived in the Bay area. Bryson and his coach Mike Schy sign it a couple of years ago

Bernard Gallacher / signed / unique look at the War By the Shore

YES !! I've got a copy of Henry Cotton's This Game of Golf a bio, travelogue. Great pix of Hogan, Nelson, etc taken in 46-47 era. Also Peter Alliss' Open Championship history of Brit Open 1946 thru 1983, I believe.

I have over 850+ golf books on all facets of the game from players autobiographies, to instruction (some from the late 1800 - early 1900), architecture, to golf course history (about 100 different golf/country club books)

Good luck with your quest

Mocokid - I have that Alliss book signed by him. He has authored several I have gotten and they are good reads. I am working on some John Jacobs signed books now.

Pga43 - architecture is what I will probably get into next. That means locating Tom Doak's book which wont be an easy task.

I got the Daok book when it first came out at cost (not the retail price listed on the book)thru the Golf Shop I ran. Now out of print it goes for $400 - $600 on e bay when they pop up (or at least the ones I've seen)

Crazy crazy but with Pacific Dunes being a masterpiece it will rise more. Is yours the softcover or Sleeping Bear Press edition? From what I can gather they are up there pricewise?

By the way I just got the new Crenshaw book he wrote with Carl Jackson signed by both. An excellent read.

wf97-I love that Master's cover. I've only started collecting over the last couple years. I love my books though. The Greatest Game ever played, Harvey Penicks little red book, Grand Slam, and my Favorites so far: Afternoons with Mr. Hogan and The Match. I still want the Five Lessons though!

Been away from the boards for a long while... here is a post from a while back that I started. Lots of good stuff in there so scroll thru it and you'll see a few photos of my little golf library. I'm sort of changing directions with it a little bit and it's at the beginning of a transition, but you'll get an idea of what's hanging around at my house right now.
