When do Tiger, Phil, Kaymer, Bubba,and Adam Scott have a beer together? Pick any 2 and choose an occasion aside from the Ryder or President's cup. They sure do not ride on each other's G-5. Does Phil play in Tiger's tournament? No guarantees, courtesy cars( forget net jets or a personal g5) , million dollar ball deals, fostered friendships that the Americans do not know today.

When did Jack ever ride in Arnold's plane or AP on Jack's? How often did Billy Casper hangout with any of the "Big 3"? In his prime years, did Jack ever have dinner with Trevino during a tournament week??

You can say that about any of the big name tour players once the money grew past the level where the PGA Tour players had to have club jobs in the "off season" to make a living to support their families.

Bubba hangs out with a lot of the players and doesn't drink. Kaymer flys commercial a lot. Adam would hang with anyone.

You see signed editions of that book pop up on eBay from time to time for reasonable prices. Updike was an a great "all around" author. I regret not sending him a copy to sign. It would be awesome to have.

The $$$ adds up very fast but it's the best investment ever
For a lover of this great game.

Signed books are fun but I'd typically rather have more books
Than less signed books if that names sense.
Hagen one exception as he had a fantastic signature.
Revolta's is also pretty good.

I looped at Hack GC as a HS and college kid 1973-80. Is the 1980 club champ Bill O'Connor? Used to play w him..............His brother Bob was also CC, probably 1978 I'd guess. Let me know if correct, it's a memory test for me. LOL.

Nice - have been meaning to keen to read Sagebiel's new book. Lovin' all those GC centennial tomes - don't tend to look too hard but have been picking up a few vintage 'instructional's' - only ones that mean something to me - recently @ 50c ea (namely Penick, Snead, Hogan, Palmer, ).

You will notice a theme here. As a huge fan of the Ryder Cup I like reading about it. Too many European stars from yesteryear are overlooked these days. Brian Barnes, Maurice Bembridge, and Brian Huggett to name a few. Below are a few of my favorites. There are many written on the subject and many more to come.
