The more Mallon talks the more she saying...... I'm picking Pressel.....unless Morgan does a complete collapse from June-Aug.
Oh yeah, I think Morgan is a lock, barring a meltdown as you stated. Don't necessarily agree with it, but it is what it is.
Apparently you inspired Morgan...7 birdies and only 23 putts with 11 GIR this morning.

Yep - this is two weeks in a row I've called out a player for sub-standard play and then she goes out and drops a low number - Blumenhurst last week and Morgan this week :). Good for her... MR22 if you want me to call out Belen next week just let me know

In the "yeah, sure you did..." dept I actually thought about picking Morgan as a dark horse this week... I figured with double points she would be heavily focused on putting in a good week to impress for SC. But after the rains I figured the extra length would be to much to overcome. Shows what I know.

And how about BamBam...she probably has the worst odds in the field, or close to it...Awsi? Nice to see her play well, seems like she was mired in 74-land for a while - bogey on 18 probably stung a bit though. Gave a nice interview to about getting all the swing thoughts out of her head and just hitting the ball and going after it. Would love to see her pick up a 2nd Major. Or Korda getting her 1st...or IK Kim, or Gerina :).

Anyway, just started watching, just saw MW blow it right on 11...yikes. I'm sure I'll have many relevant and interesting observations to come hehe...

Actually just noticed Karrie still playing the R11, not the S or the R1... interesting.

So it turns out there has been a medical reason behind Bam Bam's slow start. She has been on a combination of meds that made her lethargic and literally caused her to shake. That's what was behind her WDing from the event she had previously won.

She said the meds were revised and for the first time this year she feels normal and actually wants to play golf. Ironic correlation to a very solid round today. We'll see where she goes over the next few days. Good for her...lets hope her talent comes back to the surface.

So will the cut go to +5 or higher?

I'm disappointed Lydia shot +5.....couldn't get her driver or putter working.....I do still believe she will make the cut.
Lydia's loop, Tom Thorpe, who was Feng's temporary caddie last week and used to caddie for Lopez and Lorena will only be paid the weekly per deim, cause Lydia is an Am....or maybe he's doing a freebie in hopes of a permanent job when Lydia turns pro.

Bam Bam speaks too fast when interviewed.

These greens have subtle breaks.
The rough sure is nasty.

For a short little pro Ji Ya is crazy good.
Hope Chella can win so her Dad can retire....lol.
I thought there'd be more cheering for Yani's ace.
I'd luv to see Laura Davies win and enter the HOF.....she use to dominate this event when it was held at Dupont.
LD plays so much golf between the LPGA & LET....w/o any whining about travel.

Did you know Se Ri didn't know this was a major when she won it in 1998....lol.

I'd guess +5 for the cut,though there's 90 odd at +4 already so maybe 6 or 7??

I was a bit disappointed to see Lydia shoot +5 as well, she could have just as easily been 2 or 3 under after 4 holes but the putting wasn't hitting the mark. Hopefully she'll get the hang of the greens a bit more tomorrow or she'll be making history again, her first missed cut!

Bam Bam speaks just like she swings, fast..

I didn't notice a high five from CK when Yani got that ace, CK did appear happy for her though.

There's a few bombers at the pointy end of the leaderboard, bit surprised at that. The rough is pretty nasty, and close. Miss the fairway by a few feet and you're in trouble, I like to see that, wouldn't want to play that but happy to watch it.. lol

Wouldn't surprise me if Jiyai is the only one out of the current top 10 who's still in the top 10 come tomorrow..

It rained overnight so expect the course to play as tough as yesterday.
I say it's only a matter of time till the cut moves to +5.

Glad Lydia & Belen had a good rd to make the cut.
-4 by MW....good for her.......Golf Central will be drooling over this and the MW fawners and haters will be having fun on the GC golf forum.....that forum is a gong show.

Assuming 84 pros make the cut......they should be able to finish just over the original 7pm coverage ending on Sunday....but to accomplish this they likely can't re-pair going into round 4.....which will make for kinda anti-climatic viewing cause some leaders won't be in the final grouping.
We'll see what the do later this evening.

They just showed Morgan Pressel on TV. Those sky blue shorts she's wearing leave very little to the imagination. They look like they're almost painted on!! The girl's got back!!

Wishing Morgan would contend more often. I dunno, golf just seems more fun when she is around.

I've been off fighting death, but I read on The Golf Channel today that Morgan got married in January or so. What a sad day for me.

Interesting comment by Laura Davies regarding the WG HOF. Apparently she asked to have her name removed from the ballot since she wants to earn her way into the LPGA HOF.
Yeah she's been saying that for several years now.. Just needs two more wins, or one major on the LPGA to get in via qualifying. Regardless, with 80+ worldwide wins, she'll go in one way or another for sure, whether on getting those last two points by wins, or voted in later in the special category. Would love to see her get in on with a win, to be honest, but chances seem slim.

And for those keeping score, that's another call-out for '78, so place your bets now lol...

Shame BamBam dropped those two strokes on 7/16, but with her lately it's always like a time bomb waiting to go off. A big number is only one quick slash away it seems. Sunday seems a good paring for MP, she's not paired with super long hitters so should be a comfortable group.

Pat Hurst seems to have lost quite a bit of weight, haven't seen her in some time, it's pretty noticeable. Also was unaware that Katherine Hull got married...chalk up another hyphen, first Jodi now Katherine.

Four hours is almost too much coverage, at least on this course, anyway. I found myself FF'ing toward the last hour, so might have missed a few things.

Saw Victoria Tanco and Karen Stupples were both DQ'd, anyone know the details?
