^^^Watch out for Griffin. It's possible he will change every club in his bag three times before he completes all 18 holes. He's a ho!!!!!

What's the format of this event?
Ha! I should be able to make it through Saturday before I need a new putter or 3 wood. Gosh I hope...

True had a stent put in on Tuesday but was negotiating with the Dr. and he said maybe a casual round. So at this point still planning on playing Saturday. Just might have to swing a wee bit easier than normal. LOL

As I know from personal experience from the previous event and forums, enjoy and take advantage of the networking you can get. I never imagined I was gonna be friends with so many guys, and even going out with some of them in such a short time. I met Marckilgore last week; I made an ace, he shot the round of his life, and we even talked about a potential trip to Bandon. I visited JJensen and Frozen Soul in the Iron Range.

I will be bringing a trophy and some prizes to add to the ones the course is providing. If someone have anything to donate to a table of prizes, more than welcome.

This event is for the fun of golfing. Competition welcome and encouraged, as this is a non for profit, non charity group. Guys, this is our Open.

Tees will start at 2:06pm. Carts will be named and I encourage you to get here early so you can go to the range, and get in game shape. Tokens for the range will be provided. Price is $55. The carts have GPS and can keep score, but we should keep it manually, just in case Murphy’s is visiting that day.

Prestwick have a A+ restaurant for those who want to have dinner. Is premium as for a suburb it can be. For the price, their appetizers are amazing.

At the turn, they have a window that serves typical golf snacks and brats and drinks. But you can call and they will prepare a really good sandwich.

So you don’t have to go through the shame I went last time, if you are playing the game, you have to put into the cup. Gimmies not encouraged.
Per my fitter who swears I should not be playing C Tapers. He sees the C taper as avery specific shaft for a "hitter" vs. "swinger" as he puts it.

That's my excuse.

You're a 4. :)

Ha I usually just use the NG 360 App on my phone to track my average, but that's only at Virginia. I forgot to get a USGA this year and just haven't gotten to it. I guess I should do that.

Gotcha. You're a sandbagging 2 HCp then :)

See you Saturday brother.... Tell Brad Scott to come down....

If only the sandbagging was on purpose! Ha I tend to have one out of every four or 5 in the mid 80s when I can't putt.

I'll play as a 4 and hope I don't hack.

Marzo- What would be more beneficial here? Never played here before, but I heard it's very nice (GPS, etc) 24* utility or 23* hybrid? The utlity is more accurate for a 200 tee shot, but the hybrid is easier from the deck... FWIW: I will be carrying a 19* hybrid for sure

I've had the same irons all season. Same driver all season (can't stick with one shaft in it though) new 3 wood this week, same hybrid all season, month old wedges, and had the same putter for a month now (new record for me).

I just need to stop and play want I have. But the BST is preventing me from doing so.....

I'm a 10 I'd say. I dont have a handicap but if it goes well I'm close to breaking 80. Pissed that my 712u won't arrive for this event.

Doesn't matter to me. I'm usually between 81 and 85. Ill break 80 occasionally and not break 90 sometimes too.

It sounds like you two should lobby for an increase in the maximum number of clubs allowed on Saturday. Sometimes 14 just isn't enough. :)

You can bring up to a max of 18 clubs in the bag, including belly putter. Plus shaft changes allowed in the middle of the round, and tricking the lofts (we are Ho's so that is understandable). The catch can be that any club over the 14 limit in a bag have a claim price of $60 by anyone after the round. And the kids selling lemonade from the yards have all the right to call you Vijay. Not allowed but, Bandit balls. :taunt:

I wanna take those Obans from Ladahl.

In Prestwick I bring my conventional set of 3w and 21/24/27 hybrids. 4th hole have many fairways traps, I usually use 24th to get out. 9th hole can be reached in 2 with a 21h. You would like to go out of the tee with a 21h in the short intermediate holes. Hole 16th can be reached in 2 over a lake with a 3w (my friend Jim McQ just did it last time we played there), but I always lay up. Hole 17th is a long par 3 close to 205 uphill and I like to use a 17h, but because I wont bring it I will use my 3W soft. The final hole I have never gotten in 2, but is a Driver and 3w hole.

They have mens club tournament in the morning, so be prepared. The pro told me if it doesn't rain the greens will be fast, they already look like a carpet.
