Congratulations on an incredible putter! I couldn't imagine something like that happening to me and to know all of the hard work, time, and effort that it took to actually make that putter plus getting to meet the man himself that does it all is priceless!

Your choices in putters has always been spot on and this one takes the cake. I had posted one of the original threads back earlier this year of Rory and his putter @ Abu Dhabi as I would love for Nike to bring a similar putter to retail. This model seems to be the perfect blend of aesthetics and function and I look forward to hearing your review of the playing characteristics in comparison to the other beautiful putters that you have at your disposal!

The more I think about it, the more I'm intrigued by the feel of this putter. By my standards, the 009's both stainless and carbon are "soft". I have never really liked any of the polymer type inserts because they really take away a lot of the feedback and have felt "mushy" to me. The Method insert is pretty interesting and has a really cool feel to it. I need more time with it to give better feedback but after the first round, I think it's starting to grow on me.

Did he explain why getting the ball rolling faster was better than skidding?

I have never seen a study showing correlation of skidding and decreased accuracy or inconsistency.

Was just curious as to why skidding is inherently inferior to rolling.

The letter with the putter is cool.

The pics show a good example of why retail putters don't have the DH89/009 curves. The time it takes to get a CNC'd head to look like RORY/009/DH89 prevents a price point that makes retail sales hard to come by. Lot's of room for error with untrained hands grinding the bumpers to look that soft. Hence the expense.

Definitely a keeper, and where's the text regarding which parts get tiffany paint?

During the fitting I was concentrating on making good strokes and holing putts and didn't really get into the technical talk that was going on while I was putting. The basic idea is that the less the ball skids off the face and sooner it begins to actually roll, the better it holds it's line and pace. That was my understanding of it anyways, and I could visually see that the ball had less skid, both out of my peripheral vision, as well as the many different camera angles they had setup. Will keep you posted on how this translates on the course, I could definitely see the ball track more end over end with the Method than it does with my 009, but not sure it necessarily translates to more putts holed.

Yeah, definitely agree with your post. I think the variation and time aspect to making a putter like this would make it difficult to keep consistent for a production run. I'm thinking of keeping it all "Nike", but Tiffany and White does sound pretty good.. hmm... The 009 is the the same loft.
