Looking for Rangefinder for use with prescription glasses...Help!!!

Recommended Posts

Really like the idea of rangefinder, but I wear prescription glasses and the majority of the units I have tested are difficult for me to put my eye comfortably into the eye piece. Any others with this issue who have found something that works. Laser Link was an option, but i just didn't like the clunkiness of it.

Many thanks in advance!!!!

The Bushnell Pro 1m has about as much eye relief as anything other than a LaserLink Quickshot (tm). I wear progressive prescription lenses and can not stand touching them with anything. My Bushnell Medalist is usable but I have to be pretty careful not to bump into my eyeglass lenses. Trying out the Pro 1m in a store I did not have to put it anywhere near my glasses.

But it's a fairly pricey unit. The Quickshot is a much cheaper option with effectively infinite eye relief...if your course(s) happen to have the prisms.

P.S. I must admit to feeling the temptation to "drop" my old Medalist so as to "need" a Pro 1m replacement for it!

eagles1, on the Leupold models you can adjust the focus by turning the eyepiece. Maybe you can adjust it to work without glasses and then take them off when you shoot the pin.

I have used 2 different rangefinders over the years (Bushnell Pinseeker 1500, Leupold GX-3) while wearing my prescription glasses with zero issues.

I have the Bushnell V2 which has an adjustable diopter in the eyepiece. I wear glasses and have it adjusted for my vision - works fine. I assume the newer V3 model also has the same feature.

By any chance did you buy one of the "Warehouse Deals" ones from Amazon? They had a couple come through lately at a very attractive price.

I bought on ebay. $290 shipped. No strap or carrying case. Seller has good feedback (500+)

Every once in a while Amazon will put a couple of "Used-Like New" ones up under Warehouse Deals for about $270-$275 or so. But they get snarfed up in a day or two. For that price I'm always somewhat tempted but owning a perfectly good Bushnell Medalist keeps me from pulling the trigger.

Let us know how you like it!
