975F or 906F2/4 - There's quite a few still in bags on tour. If you check the Senior tour, you'll see more 975F's.

I still rock em both, Have not found a better replacement off the tee for accuracy than my 13.5° 975F and the 18.5° 906F4 is almost impossible to beat off the deck. I very rarely use the 975F off the deck unless the lie is perfect and I'm over 250yds out, it is admittedly NOT the best off the deck but they don't make a 13° 906, else I'd have one of those.

Edit: Plus if you want a replacement they're $40 on eBay all day long.
Froth-- I don't know why I didn't think of this in your DIY 2 wood/thriver/mini-driver thread over in the old fogies forum, but not only did Titleist make a 13* F2 (and 13.5* F4), they also made a "STRONG" version of the 980F that was available in 13*. They're a little rare, but they're out there. Small head, very deep face--noticeably deeper than a 906F2. Might be worth looking into for your throwback 2 wood project.

Heck, here's one that's already got an X100 in it for you; $20, 3 hours left on the auction......
They made the 975F in a 2 wood at 12.5°, I had one for a short while - But sold it. Appreciate you looking out, but I'm happy with the top two slots in my bag right now :)

Bringing this back from the dead to see how opinions have evolved since 2013. I loved the 913Fd with the D+. Best FW I ever had and now I’m thinking of going back to it unless there is something way better.

Titleist just makes damn good fairway woods. I personally feel completely maxed out with my 915FDs and have no desire to look elsewhere, but the TS2 and TS3 are fantastic as well. I think the only real area of improvement is with adjustability. It seems that most of the other main fairway brands are bowing out of the heel/toe adjustment game so I would love to see Titleist improve on the adjustment range of the SureFit CG to capitalize there.

TS3 is pretty close to perfection. Slightly tinnier feel/sound than the more thuddy feel of the 917 F2, but the glossy black look of the TS line is much sexier than the gray/silver 917s. I also preferred the Diamana White shaft, which was a stock in the 917, over the Hzrdus, Tensei and Evenflow shafts in the TS line.

Both stand apart from the earlier models because of adjustability. The perfect FW for me would be TS3 looks and distance with 917 F2 feel.

TS2 is also good but the shaping is not as classic as the TS3.

Have gamed Titleist fairways since (stupidly) moving on from my V-steel years ago. 913F has been in the main bag here in FL. 913FD is in the bag up at my buddy's house in NJ. The FD is a beast off the tee. Just recently put a Diamana W-series 80S in the 913F. Yeah buddy.

Recently added a 917F2. Its a good club, and I hit it well. But there's something about the feel of the 913 series. Dense. Solid. I know the metallic sound puts off some people, but I prefer it to the hollow "clack" of more recent versions.

Based on what I've read here and elsewhere, I think I need to take the TS2/TS3 for a test drive.

I agree there is something special about the feel of the entire 913 line although I found the driver to be shorter than it’s peers at the time and probably especially today.

Titleist has always made the best fairways. Still have my 904f, and occasionally drop it in the bag for fun. Played the 917f2 last season, and loved it. Then thought I'd try the 917f3. This has now become the best Titleist fairway of all time for me.

Just a sidebar here ... Did you all notice that with the TS line, Titleist changed the stock club lengths? So now the 4W is 42.5, 5W is 42.00, and 7W is 41.50? (13.5 and 15.0 3Ws are still 43.00). Just something to keep in mind if swapping out shafts between models in the 7W, 5W and 4W, because the lengths won't match and you'll need to make weight adjustments. I actually prefer the TS club lengths but it means that the shafts are not perfectly compatible across models, despite having the same adapter tip.

I am looking for something long and easy off the fairway. I know Titleist is usually straight. I found a good deal on a used 917 F2 4 wood 16.5 deg with a Mitsu Red 60 regular shaft. I heard the TS3 is a cannon but it is more then I want to spend. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I saw this geezer hitting one 250 total yards with 92 mph swing speed which is close to my speed.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYdNyzDEEgw

Can anyone that has a TS2 weigh the clubhead for me? I have a 917F2 16.5 with stock weight cartridge. Gonna move to the TS2. My 917 weighs 208g, wondering what the TS2 weighs (clubhead only no shaft). Also, if you could include what weight plug you are using would help too. Thanks.

Do you mean the TS2 16.5? Mine weighs about 213g with standard weight. Also, remember that the stock shaft length with 917 4 woods was 1/2 longer than with TS line.

Yes, planning on the TS2 16.5. Interesting that it’s 5g heavier than the 917F2. Did not know about the shaft length change for the TS2. That’s odd. Do you know if they changed the length from 915F to 917 as well or are those the same?

As much as I like to jump back into nostalgia clubs, modern fairways are much better overall performers than older. I loved my 980F 13* and 18* fairways, as they were the first 'real' clubs I bought for myself, and they performed well. Loved my 906F2, so much so that I still have 2 today. Have a TS2 and it works very well, but looking to try and pick up a TS3 to compare against.

I think the TS2/3 lengths were what Titleist used until the 915/917 (i.e. the 910/913 are same length as TSs). I've thought about the length issue if trying to put some TS heads on the 915 shafts I have but wasn't sure if there were other adjustments that would change things too (shaft weight, balance point, etc). I probably wouldn't care if the net impact is within a point or two but not sure how this would end up.

18* 906f2 w/ 80x VS Proto will never leave my bag unless it breaks. Performance and feel is incredible.

Same as my 21* 585H. That thing feels like a forged iron and the performance is incredible. So easy to flight the ball up or down with it and so workable right or left.

Absolutely no reason for me to swap either of my antiques
