Anybody have any input- dates that would be difficult, contacts at a course for possibly reduced rates, format suggestions, etc? I'd be all for any day, assuming I have enough time to arrange my work schedule. Maybe the first or second Saturday/ Sunday in April. I'd say format wise- either two man scramble or shamble, one team member from WRX, one not. Play some skins. Make the fee double the greens fee and take left over money to put towards beer and prizes. Maybe set up something with a bar/ restaurant after to have spouses meet up and have a few drinks, pass out prizes.

J. W. works for a course(a really nice one at that!) in the area. Maybe he might be able to get something setup there?

I'd be more than happy to help out with discounted fees for a day in April.... chances are I won't be able to play but I will certainly play if I'm able.

Windmill Lakes would be happy to have you guys.... especially markheardjr since I'd like him to see if he enjoys the course anymore this time.... Lol.

Seriously though, we can figure out a good day to do a skins game or some kind of 2-man action. Not sure if anyone would want to but I'm sure I can get something going for drink tickets or food (lunch/dinner or just snacks) if we'd wanna shoot the breeze after the golf. Obviously anything more than your basic golf course foods will have to be decided in advance depending on the weather as we won't be ordering much unless the course is in full swing by then. BUT the beer will always be flowing. We can even have something catered in since I'm guessing we won't have anyone cooking full time that early in the year... or like GoIrish17 said you can always meet up somewhere after to do the same.

I'm all for Windmill, if it's agreeable with everyone else. I know it definitely favors those on the east side. And I favor a weekend day, as well, but am able to play any day of the week with enough notice.

I've sent out PM's to the guys who have posted in this thread so hopefully they'll reply back with a PM or a post here. Maybe we should pick a date and go from there?

How about Saturday, April 19th @ Windmill Lakes? Maybe a 12:00 tee time? Time doesn't matter much to me so what does everyone else think? Once we get an idea of how many people we can figure out what playing format we want as well.

Just got a PM from GSXR330 (thanks for the heads-up!) and I'd be game too.

At the moment April 19 should work (as long as it isn't snowing). I play a season opener that's typically the last Saturday of April -- so this day should work us that gets pushed back (I'll look into it, but I don't think it will).

Windmill in April? There is a very good chance of cart path only. And don't wear white.

Turkeyfoot on 619 just south of Akron is about the best draining around for spring and winter golf.

I'd be interested in playing. Once a date is established let me know and I can see if I don't have any family obligations.

April 19 at noon works for me. Though I'm not committed to Windmill being the course, I have a feeling weather and course conditions will be a potential issue anywhere we play that time of the year. Unfortunately, I don't have much insight as to what courses are best with moisture management, as I just moved to the area last September and had a little limited exposure previous to moving. I am open to anywhere (within a reasonable distance).

Someone mentioned Turkeyfoot and I will second that it is the best draining in that general area. Windmill, while a nice course, more than likely will be moist to put it mildly. I played Chippewa early in the year last year and it was in pretty good shape at a similar time.
