Looking for course recommendations in the Dallas area 9/3

I'm taking the day after labor day off to make it a 4 day weekend. On the 3rd I'm looking to play a nicer course than the usual public courses I play. I shoot high 80's to low 90's currently. I've been really working on my swing the last year or so and it is really getting close. Short game and putting are usually my problem, as I've spent much more time on the full swing. They aren't bad, but certainly could be better. Anyway, I digress.

 

I live in Plano, and am willing to drive a little ways so it doesn't have to be real close. The courses I usually play are Pecan Hollow, Watters Creek(just down the street from me), Sherrill Park, and Ridgeview Ranch. I was thinking about playing Cowboys Golf Club, but thought I would check out some fellow WRXer suggestions as well. I just want to have a good all around experience and enjoy some good golf on my day off. Let me know what you would play.

 

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I'm looking for courses that haven't aerated the greens and are in pretty good shape. If the greens have been aerated, but it's still a course I should play, I'll put the suggestion away in my memory bank. If there's something about my game that would aid in suggesting a good course for me, just ask.

Pecan Hollow just aerated last week.
Woodbridge in Wylie aerated 8/13 so they're almost back now.
Firewheel Lakes and Old Course in good shape. Suspect the Bridges is good also but haven't played there since April.
Some of the feedback in here recently indicated Sherrill Park greens are pretty slow.
Have never played Grapevine Muni but have heard it's really nice.
Waterview in Rowlett is usually a good place to play also
Cowboys is great but pretty steep price
Frisco Lakes and Trails of Frisco also

Grapevine Muni is a nice course but they just aerated and sanded.

Indian Creek is pretty nice. They keep the Creek course in much better shape then the Lakes course, but they also charge accordingly. They are working on new sand traps on the Creek still, so that might take the value down a little, but the greens and fairways are looking good as of last week.

I haven't been to Texas Star lately, but that is a very nice course as well. I would look into that one as a good option on the higher end of the price (and drive) spectrum.

I played Frisco Lakes a few weeks ago as well. I personally didn't particularly like that layout as much as others, but it was in great shape. Worth looking at.
