I'd the TP SLDR 430 Has a flatter lie, and a more squared head then I am interested, but really interested in a 460 TP head to be honest with ya.....is that next?

Really liking my 460 SLDR, but wish they could have made the weight adjustable in the TP.

I had to go with an Accra Tour Z+ 55 in mine for swingweight issues, but it turned out to be a darn good combo

I was wondering this as well. If so, it's a great addition to a player's club. I hate how upright most clubs are getting of late.

Just curious, but what's with the obsession for the tp logo? It looks way cleaner without it in my opinion.
For a lot of guys, the TP logo just symbolizes a quality player's club...and frankly, alot of the stuff TM has put out since they abandoned the logo just hasn't been as good.
I guess I don't get the obsession with the TP logo still. Pick your favorite TMAG club that got skewered by the boards here for one reason or another....is that to say that they would get a favorable review here if they simply had the TP stamp?

Personally, I think its gaudy, and I struggle with why the people who want to use a "players club" would want something as gaudy as this on their clubs. These are the same guys bitching about the racing stripe on the R1, the white clubs, the Stage 2 crown graphics, etc., and I guess I struggle with why the TP logo is OK, when these other graphics are not. Seems like these folks would just as well prefer a clean, non-nonsense club, without any flashiness (a la Titleist or Mizuno).

For the record, I'm a self-proclaimed TMAG homer....just trying to understand the obsession with a stamp.

The TP logo, for me at least, brings back feelings of the TMAG heyday, when they technologically way ahead of most others (especially during Callaway's struggles throughout some of the 2000s), and still catered to both low and high caps. Back during the SuperDeep days and before that.

As for you not "getting it" with the TP logo: Yes, it sounds like you don't get it at all. I doubt that any explanation would enable you to understand, either you like it or you don't. Sounds like you don't, which is fine. Just like how some don't like the rapid fire releases, some don't like the names, etc, etc, etc. TMAG means different things to different people. For me at least, the best of TMAG is associated with that TP logo. Others' mileage may vary.

I thought the new irons weren't slotted? Are they or are they not?

There's been a lot of differing info going around on whether the MB or CB will be slotted; however, everything for the last month or so has indicated that the MC would DEFINITELY be slotted.

Maybe I missed an answer to this, but I have been beating the drum on this issue in the SLDR fairway thread and haven't gotten an answer. The early pictures of the tour SLDR fairways were in 15.5 loft, and it has also been mentioned that an 18.5 exists. Is it possible these are going to be a TP head released later? The current offerings are 14, 15, 17, 19, with no half lofts to be found.

A 15.5 tour or TP three wood would be consistent with the latest trend, i.e. the Adams XTD "3T" 16* tour only loft.

Anyone?

I can tell you that the MB is not slotted unless they conpletely revamped it over the last month or so. I cannot wait to see the final results of the 2014 TP iron lines.

CPP, I can see your point but I'd have to disagree with the gaudy description. To me, it's a small but powerful branding logo for Taylormade. Just like the "V" for Callaway, just like the Swoosh for Nike. I think in their past clubs, it was always well placed on the heads and the shafts and to me, it just meant Quality. I wasn't depressed like some guys when it went away but I was happy to see them bring it back. It will be a very wise decision by Taylormade the badge does come back on the TP lines. We just saw it on the SLDR 430 let's hope it continues with all of their clubs come 2014.

Yeh, that's what I thought as well, just wasn't sure. So if the Mb has no slot and MC does, what about the CB?

The new one takes it too close to the Corvette logo. I'm surprised GM isn't sending a friendly cease and dessist over yonder. But I'm happy for the TP logo. If it means we can get some good looking quality products in the shop great. I'd like to see a 4 or 5 shaft store offering in Stiff and X. They should ship them seperate. So you pick the loft and the shaft and the store screws it on. But give us a lot of shaft options.

Wait, so with a lighter smaller head, I know the workability will be greater with the TP version, but how will this likely affect spin rates?

This is what I don't get. It seems like 95% of GolfWrx is constantly clamoring for a "smaller, more workable, players driver" from TM and all other manufacturers. Yet, at the same time 95% of GolfWrx is looking for the newest, longest driver with low spin rates. However, lower spin rates = LESS workabilitly. Unless I'm missing something.

A smaller head IS more workable for better golfers who can hit the ball consistently and put enough spin on it.

The benefit of 460cc driver heads is that off-center hits will still go pretty far. With a smaller head, misses are punished more.

I think that if you are still concerned about not being able to spin it enough to be able to work the ball (i.e. you're too inconsistent), then you definitely should not be playing a smaller, more deep face version of a driver when a larger alternative is available.

Your tone seems a bit on the defensive and somewhat condescending. Not sure why...

Anyways, my understanding was that the SLDR 460cc was designed to reduce spin with its lower/more forward CG. Something I need. I like the idea of having a smaller, maybe not lighter, head that also keeps spin down and will enable me to better work the ball. I just wonder if there is any design drawbacks in a smaller lighter head that would make it more difficult to reduce spin? Basically, I'm hoping the new SLDR 440cc head will keep spin rates down, like the 460cc, and also give the added benefit of workability...

Completely agree here except for one thing..the 460 head (to me) is so ultra low spin I just don't see anyone except tour pros and beast-mode beasts benefitting from an even lower launching, lower spinning more workable version (I'm assuming this head has these properties).

I was hitting a ton of shots with my G25 and sldr 460 on a foresight and I rarely got the TM over 2300 or 2400 spin. It was incredible.

Just out of curiosity I asked a staff member if I could try an s flex in the non TP shaft. I got a bit more spin and about 5 to 8 more yards of carry.

Also, most of my shots were out of the middle where those lines are on the clubface.

The 430's cg has been moved even closer the face if that answers your questions. And I am not 100% sure but I heard mid Dec for the 430.
I am hearing 12/13/13 for the 430cc release date. Bad news though, the TP logo will most likely not be on the retail production model. Same deal as the TP irons.

This week, the PGA Tour is at TPC San Antonio on the Oaks Course for the Valero Texas Open. GolfWRX was on-site Tuesday to catch a glimpse into the bags of some of the world’s top golfers.

The field of 144 is getting ready to battle starting Thursday for the $7.7 million purse, with $1.386 million going to the winner. The tournament is also the last event where players can qualify for The Masters, just like Canadian Corey Conners did last year.
