Or Tiger could have the 12-13 degree Frankenwood type club for majors like what Phil adopted.

Which is not a bad idea actually.

The reason for TWs putting woes is

it's hard to putt when you are kicking yourself....

I doubt Tiger's "kicking" himself about anything but the alimony he's paying her while she shops for her next rich husband.

But then that's what trophy wives do.

At least now he' seems hooked up with someone who has a life of her own that she can share with him...rather than expecting him to come home and GIVE her one.

Yum. What kind of idiot cheats on this??????? Makes me question his hetero cred.

Anyone who wants a wife that is more than Swedish arm-candy and a bed partner. Ex-swimsuit models who worked as nannies are generally not known for their scintillating conversation.

Bottomline. Tiger made the mistake of marrying a trophy wife....only to get bored with her, because there probably wasn't much depth to her once you stopped looking at her, and actually had to talk to her.

In his position, I wouldn't have had to cheat on her....because I never would have married her in the first place.

Id love to see Tiger try to hit some SGI Shovels, like the SUPER ones, like Rocketballz Max, A12OS, or Nikes own Slingshot 4D. Throw some superlight R flex graphite in there as well!

Just curious as to what everyone else thinks on the subject? Would today's GI/SGI technology improve Tigers game over the tiny blades he's played for years? Could it be the difference maker to outing him back out in front of the pack the way he used to be or would it make no difference? What do you think?

No.

The only equipment change I would make---if I were Tiger---would be to switch to a heavier shaft in his driver.

He plays 130 gm steel shafts in his irons (DG X).

He plays 103 gm graphite shafts in his fairway woods (Diamana Blueboard)

Yet he insists upon playing 70 gm shafts in his driver (Diamana Whiteboard).

I think he'd find that some of his control problems with the driver would disappear if he did what Sergio Garcia does. Sacrifice a few extra yards (that he doesn't really need) and play the 103 gm Whiteboard in his driver.

I agree with this Doc. Even if he were to go up 10-20g that would make a big difference in his accuracy.
[/quote]

Seriously.

...and I'm betting that leaving his driver in the bag as often as he does is costing him more yardage than a heavier shaft.

Tiger is not the straightest driver of the golf ball. Rarely does he hit it in the fairway on a consistent basis for four rounds, and in more punitive playing conditions at majors that is a liability. He has also has had a very shaky putter under the pressure of the majors. He used to be the greatest putter ever under major pressure. His short game as a whole has not been where it has to be as well to challenge in the majors. If you looked at the faces of his irons I would bet the wear marks are located dead center in their faces. Neither GI nor SGI nor CB irons will get the ball in the hole for him more effectively than his blades. Tiger's problem is between his ears in the majors. He's had a great year, but no majors. I would bet he is disgusted with himself.

He's always been a great iron player, but his misses tend to be long, and I think those are the ones he really pures. Maybe a cavity back would even those out a little. But I agree, the best thing he could do is put a heavier shaft in his driver. He's not the longest guy out there anymore, but he doesn't need to be. He's better off hitting it 295 in the first cut than 310 in the trees -- which was Nicklaus' philosophy.
