Clicgear 3.0 Brake Cable Snapped

I've had my Clicgear 3.0 cart since January and have been very happy with it. I use it once a week and haven't had any issues until a few days ago when the brake cable snapped during a round. The point of failure was about two inches from the brake handle, inside the brake cable sleeve. Looks like the cable began to fray and then eventually snapped. On retrospect, I started getting warnings of issues 4 or 5 rounds prior when the brake started not fully retracting when released which caused the front wheel to "click" when the cart was rolled. Clicgear was very good about sending me a brake repair kit when I called them.

 

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? If so, have you any idea what caused the cable to fray inside the sleeve?

Maybe your playing partners are jealous and sabotaged your cart. I'd check your car brakes.

Shat happens. Unless you're Oliver Stone, just fix it and chock it up to a random bad piece of equipment.

I had a similar problem - the plastic piece at the end of the brake wire near the wheel keeps on falling out of the brake mechanism. I e-mail Clickgear and they sent me a new brake wire. The problem is still there but I guess I have gotten used to it and didn't bother to e-mail them again.

That said, send an e-mail to Clickgear and they may do the same and send the wire to you at no charge. I can't guarantee it because in a separate incident they wanted me to buy the replacement cord that holds scorecards (a squirrel chewed it off).

Clicgear customer service was great when I contacted them. I received the brake repair kit yesterday but have yet to install it.
