MX 200...forged game improvement irons!

+1. best forged GI iron ever bar none....

Have you hit the MX20? Can't get em out of my bag...

haven't tried the MX20. I had T-Zoid Comp CT irons for a few years and then picked up my MX-200's brand new on ebay from the Carnoustie Golf Shop in Scotland about 8 or 9 years ago. They were on run-out so I got a great price on them AUD$850-00 delivered to Australia for 3-PW. Cheapest price I could get in Australia was about AUD$1200.00. I had never hit a MX-200 before buying them - just liked the look of them. Best golfing buy I have ever made. If the MX20's are anything like the MX-200 I can fully relate to the "Can't get em out of my bag...." feeling. Just wickedly awesome game improvement irons with magical Mizuno grainflow forging.

Mine are still mint (had to remove the decals after a cleaning mishap however)

1) 33's

2) 32's

3) 14's

According to Ralph Maltby the rank should be:

14's, 33's and 32's. I have a set of 33's and 60's in storage. The 60 was the single most playable blade like club Mizuno ever made!

I'm cleaning up the 64's selling them on Ebay and putting the 33's back in play. They are so much fun on the course. Just got the new grips.

Know where I can pick up a 2 iron?

my friend who uses mp-14 swears by them, but I always loved the muscle cuts by mizuno. Basically any club with the muscle cut was my favorite.

The MP-57 were the first forged iron I ever owned and they'll always have a special place in my heart.

I am enjoying this thread. I love the look and feel of Mizuno irons. Am eyeing the MP 4 lately. I think the short irons in that set are better than their counterparts in the MP 5.

But I have only gamed three sets of Mizunos. Most time spent with the JPX 850 (harsh, clicky, did not like) and the MP 59 (a great club, in my opinion.) People knock the 59 for its tungsten insert, but I love the feel of this iron and its powerful trajectory. Have mine with a PX Rifle 5.5 and they are super accurate. Compact and modest offset. I like it better than the similar MP 15.

I also had a used set of MP 54s that I bought at the same time as the 59. The 54 is nice but launched too high and I found the 59 performed better for me.

Of the others listed, the 69s have a great look that I like a bit more than the 33, but it's close. I tend to like the musclebacks more than the cavity backs (of the CB heads, the MP 66 and 64 caught my eye.) I think the 14 and 32 would be fun to own. I have to think practicing witn irons like these can only sharpen one's swing. And the 67 may have that silly 'cut muscle' on it, but I like the look of that club.

Next Mizunos I get would be a used set of one of the musclebacks, probably MP 4 or 69. I am gaming Wilson Staff FG Tour V6, which are beauties, so I am good with a cavity back set.

I play with the MP 59 although I am not a low handicap player.

But the insert is not tungsten. It is titanium.

MP-32 (I've also played the MP-53s) - my favourite club of the set is my 4i. Whether on a tee, off the deck, or in the rough - it is stupid easy to get the ball airborne (trees are not a concern - something I experience way too much), control it and hold a green.

I'm hoping the up and coming MP-18s will be able to become the follow up set to my 32s (luckily they are still mint).

Mizuno irons are overrated.

Spoken like a true sports fan. Ever wonder why whenever a pro loses his equipment deal he almost ALWAYS buys Mizuno irons? Many years ago, Payne Stewart had no contract and went down to Edwin Watts, in disguise, to BUY a set of MP 14's. Koepka and Vegas, both off of Nike picked up Mizunos and won. They are the best iron... ever, with Hogan a close second because of the 73-74 Apex (I miss them. My clubs in college).

Best irons ever:

MP 64

MP 33

MP 14

73 Hogan Apex

MP 29

MP 60

After I get my MP 4's, I have a feeling they go to the top.

The MP4 is so nice looking. I tend to like most of them, though. Did not care for the MP25 for whatever reason, but I loved my MP59, MP64 and also the 15.

Next ones I try will be the 4, 5 or the new one that Vegas is playing.

Very true statement on the 60's. Sold my 2 sets a few years ago when i went on a SGI/GI spree. Bad move, soft and forgiving for what they were. They are easy to re acquire but finding another mint set will be the hard part. Thanks for the reminder on the 60's.

Great thread - have owned many sets and currently own 33s, 68s, 825 Pro and 900 Forged.

The 900 Forged are in the bag for a great combination of distance and forgiveness whilst still being a proper Mizuno iron.

Favourites are the MP68 Black Nickel which I prefer to the 33s (I know - sacrilege right) as I prefer the finish, the short irons and the smoother transition from the hosel.

Special mention to the 32s - just a beautiful iron
