Driver B. Hands down. Our best total performance driver. And we think the best ever made. But we won't be able to have a fun debate with everyone on it until 12/2.
That's okay, still have the apex and x2hot hybrid (pro) to try/buy in the mean time ;)
Where are buying X2hot before 12/2?

I deleted my post- sorry Callaway. I figured that since I had seen it that it was basically public knowledge as I am certainly not a Callaway insider.... also was never told it was secret info. I did think the new driver was great, it flies very well.
Was it as good as all the hype in here makes it out to be? Just curious, I'm excited to see these mystery drivers!
Pure I know my post has bias as I went to Vegas but it's really good. Ingenious design and creates super low spin without sacrificing MOI in the process. Good.
J - you are definitely biased, but that's not a bad thing. In terms of anticipation vs. actual performance, how would you say this one ranks? And which driver would you say it's closest to but better than?
Depends on which driver your talking about. But I do not have enough experience with the new stuff to be saying it's better then X,Y, and Z clubs. Getting it out on the course and the trackman will tell me that. What I can say is it feels and sounds great and it has tech that is new in the golfing world. Useable, functional adjustability like never seen before.
Here's the thing about clubs-- if you're fit correctly and have a modern driver that you hit straight then there are never going to be better drivers out there. This specific driver is great because the technology in it gives a good fitter the ability to custom fit the player more easily. Certain players are extremely difficult to fit based on their swing-- this driver is gonna give that player the best possible options to optimize ball flight. There are only two ways to get more distance in 2013 based on limits with the rules: ball speed and efficient ball flight (which is gonna be dependent on the conditions you play) and everybody knows that when dead centered nearly every driver should be maxed out. Every player is different and will see value based on forgiveness (MOI) vs launch conditions and where the CG is placed in the head AND the trade-offs you get. That's your G25 versus 913D3 comparison to a tee... and every driver in between. Waiting until 12/2 to figure out where this fits in for Callaway.
Spot on my man..........Like usual.
The tech design is special and it works. The C is for me and I can't wait to dual it out with my Anser 7.2 tour spec combo. My anser is special and I was in no need for a driver when I hit this BB line. However,
Callaway has something special here. Do I expect it to blow away my current combo? No, I do not!
But, if I am able to tweak out an extra 5 or so yards and maintain the forgiveness of my current combo I will be ecstatic.
The key for me is the fine tuning this tech will allow a fitter/player to make from the get go or perhaps when wanting to try a different shaft(s) in the head. If I purchase a new shaft that I want to try, I now feel a little better about that shaft purchase because I have the extra adjustability to fine tune my new combo.

Is it safe to assume that the Callaway Slider driver that Greg got the spy photos of were a ploy to throw off the competition and the new driver is not even close to the same?
I haven't seen it, but I think this is accurate. Well, at least the bolded part, I'm not sure about anything to throw off competition. I think it's possible that was their plan until they were beaten to the punch. So then maybe they decided to go a different direction so it wasn't a "me too" driver, but instead, something that hasn't been seen before, which it sounds like this is.

It's possible that driver was truly a prototype and it didn't test as well as the New Bertha. I doubt Callaway would spend the time and money to make a prototype driver that they knew would never hit the market. Having said that, the golf industry is a billion dollar industry and it's not unbelievable they would do that. I truly believe Callaway makes the hottest drivers with the most advanced tech. I have thought this ever since I bought an FT-5 and I have been loyal ever since then with the FT-Tour (shouldn't have given this one up), RazrHawk, and RazrFit TA.

Is the driver that has the moveable CG a smaller CC head? Maybe 400cc? The moveable weight part would have to be at least 30-40g to have a real effect, the smaller head would help that too.
Not true. As little as 10gs shifted within a head can effect the COG depending on design.

Ten grams does how much to the COG though? 1/8 toward the weight from what I know is 12 grams.

When I used the 10g example I was referring to lightweight heads like the Optiforce. A normal head will require more but not 40g's.
I'm not so sure the weight of the head makes a difference with moving the CG. My understanding is it takes 12 grams to move it 1/8" towards the weight and about 35/40 grams to truly change ball flight. This is from a conversation I had with Tom Wishon during my fitting with him.

Edited* I am going to verify it with him just to be sure, and get a definitive answer to cure my curiosity.
