DFW area GolfWRX Facebook Group

Hey fellow DFW'ers

Up until now I have been living in the Houston area and in Houston there was a GolfWRX Facebook Group created to better find golf partners and to organize golf events. It originally started with only a few members and has now grown to nearly 50 members. It has been a great avenue to post up available tee time spots and has worked very well in bringing together our golf community.

I have decided to continue this in the DFW area and have created a DFW GolfWRX Facebook Group. Below is a link to the group so feel free to join and lets start getting groups together to play.

Yeah I know its a bummer and I'll certainly miss playing with you guys. We will certainly get a large DFW vs. Houston Ryder Cup once we get more Dallas golfers to join in on the facebook page.

For anyone not on the Facebook group, we will still continue to post event information on this site so everyone will have access. The main reason for the creation of the facebook group was to give everyone an easier outlet for finding weekend partners. More of the DFW GolfWRX members will have an opportunity to meet and connect with other GolfWRX members that they would not of otherwise been able to meet or play with.

Plus if this DFW group becomes large and close enough we can plan a City v. City style Ryder Cup match. The Houston GolfWRX group is rather large (currently 52 members large) and has grown into a rather tight knit community. Basically there are many possibilities for bringing together the local golfing community which might lead to planning large competitive in-state tournaments. Hopefully similar groups catch on in Austin and San Antonio and who knows what sort of competitions we can create there after.

My wife has to travel to Dallas for a meeting in March(20th-23rd) and i was thinking about coming with her. I think Friday the 21st is the day she has meetings all day long so that would be the only day i could play. We are in Ohio where it is -5 right now!!!!! I was wondering if anyone might be interested in playing? The only problem is I don't want to pay to have my clubs make the trip for just one round. The plane ticket is expensive enough! So i was hoping that whoever wanted to play had a backup set of clubs I might be able to use for the round? Just getting out and swinging the clubs would be great for a snow bird!!!!!

we would be staying at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel.

well its nice to see that someone has made this page cause its hard for me to meet up with other golfers. I am carrying a 8 handicap and i get to play mostly on a Monday or Tuesday i am located in the mid cities area...i play iron horse, fossil creek, riverside and grapevine public. We should get a lttle meet and greet or 18 hole game put together.
