Thanks for the info Bobby! How cool is it to have one of the designers of the course here talking to us about it? Unreal.

I've been following this course since you guys started pushing dirt around out there. I used to have a phone number to call and ask about when it would open. I'd call every 3 months or so when it first looked like it was getting close. A nice lady would answer and tell me it will be this spring, then this summer, then this fall. That went on for several years. Then the number stopped working. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Hello to all. Just joined so I could join the discussion, mainly about this course. I live in Franklin, TN and I have driven buy the hole you see from Cox Road cutting through on my way to Champions Run. I am really, really excited about this course maybe finally opening and hope I get to play it. If a golfwrx group gets a chance to play it early, I would love to be included. As some have posted, I really wanted to park and walk the course, but there were "no trespassing " signs and I did not think my wife would want to bail me out of jail. :busted_cop:

I love to play the middle tennessee public courses, especially Old Fort in Murfreesboro, Greystone in Dickson, and Montgomery Bell State Park. This course would be really convenient and I would visit often assuming it is public in a reasonable price range.

I play a good bit at the par 3 little course in Franklin where the Tennessee PGA is housed. I have spoken to Belmont's golf pro (the team practices out there) and was told that the TPGA had a team play the course to rate it for difficulty, slope, etc. He said it would be a pretty tough course based on word he received.

Anyway, glad to be here. Who knows, maybe I will meet one or two of you at the "Hideaway". I love wine so we could stop at Arrington Vineyard on the way home for a taste or two. :golfer:

Its getting real close to being Spring around this area(except for this Wednesday through Friday with 3-6 inches of snow forecasted). After that, we should be good to go. Has anyone heard the official opening date of this new course? Would really like to get a chance to play this long awaited course if and when the opportunity presents itself....

I haven't heard a word. It wouldn't surprise me if they don't open up this year. My membership runs out at my current course at the end of this month so I was hoping it would open up. It appears that the grove is having success selling their lots, it surprises me that this course hasn't said it would be open by middle if April at the latest.

At this point I'll believe it opens when I see it. I'm not the type of golfer that they are aiming for anyway so I know they don't care what I think.

I was the one that posted the email from the developer. I have his direct email and I have reached out to him a few times with no response. I am not sure what is going on. It does appear they are moving on with the construction phase of the development with roads, etc but no news about the course.

Thanks, for the update

I drove by the course on Cox Road this past Saturday and something's going on on both sides of the course. The road was covered in mud.

Anyone have any idea what the giant tapered holes are for that have been dug just up the road from the course? On the opposite side of the road that is.

Drove by today. The road looks prepped and ready to be hard topped. Other than that, I don't see how it's ready by spring. Summer, maybe, but not spring....

Drove past the course today. The road leading in is now paved. Also saw a blue flag on the green that you can see from the road so I'd assume someone is playing there now. They're removing a lot of rock from the left of the tee box that is surrounded by rock. Looks like they are gonna have a turning lane at the entrance. They've also made room for a turning lane on 41A where you turn into Cox Road. Maybe one day we will get to check it out.

For what it is worth, I spoke with someone with the Tennessee PGA today, and he said the course is scheduled to open in June. That would agree with the information about the Williamson Inc. golf tourney being there 6/24. Of course, they have planned to open before and not gotten it done.

Still curious if it will be public and the amount of the greens fees.

I also googled the Williamson Inc. golf tournament. $700 per team or $175 for an individual.

$175 per player...Ouch!

June is almost here. Not looking good for a GolfWRX preview.

[/quote]If they go Semi-Private, looks like green fees will be around $70-$80 per round. That will not work for many people that we associate with. If they can get competitive with some of the other courses in our area, then, they will get our business for sure! I hope they make good decisions on price points.

I think you are right. I was guessing $75 per round. It would be a once a year deal for me. It's about 45 minutes away for me but that's about what all courses are now for me since Blackberry Ridge shut down. It's really cut into my golfing.

It's about 5 min away from me but if $75-80 a round would also be a once or twice a year.

I would just rather drive 15 min to Old Fort for $40.

I heard that it will open in the fall, but that makes no sense since the tournament is in June. A friend drove by today to see a twosome playing. I may be playing from the senior tees by the time this course opens.

Spoke with a Tennessee PGA member today. He did not know an opening date or what the cost will be to the public, but in his position with the TN PGA he was able to play the course recently. He confirmed they are holding the Williamson County Inc. scramble there in June, and said the course was really nice. He thought the plan is for it to be semi-private when it first opens, and maybe go fully private later.
