Nike Ignite Balls - mini review

As the title says, Nike Ignite balls are currently selling at Costco for $14.99 per doz.

Don't know how much of the U.S Costco has coverage in but I imagine similar stores may also have it.

Anyway, i decided I would give them a try to see how they gamed and I have to say i was pleasantly surprised.
Great off the tee, really good distance. Felt good with the irons, and worked well around the greens.
Getting them to check was no problem.

I normally play Nike Tour or ProV1 and am used to premium ball performance and although these balls may not be top of the line performance, i would recommend them to anyone seeking a good 3 piece, all round performance, ball for less money.

Super old bump here, but I saw these today at Costco for $12.59 per dozen. Anybody else have info on these?

It's not a bad ball...but I'd rather have the Orange HX Hots for a few bucks more. I'd also rather pay 18 a dozen for the Tour Ds from Rockbottomgolf.com.

Ignite - OK...A fine ball at that price...but no great bargain. I had a hard time keeping em in the fairway.

Ignite was the predecessor of the Nike Vapor, followed by the Nike Vapor Speed.

Never gamed 'em myself, but they are a good quality 3-piece ionomer covered ball.

Main improvement I heard about the Vapor over the Ignite was that the Vaopr was a bit softer. Generally, I think Ignite players liked the Vapor, and vice-versa.

Interesting the comparison to the HX Hots. Finally gamed one this year, and I found it went farther than the Vapor, but was a harder ball with less spin.

The vapor is softer, but the ignite always felt really good to me. I want to like the ignite, but its too limited into the greens. When it comes to chipping and pitching, I've never an ignite settle down as fast as I'd like a ball too. FWIW, my benchmark ball for greenside control is the Burner TP LDP. That suits the kinds of things I try to do; More flops and lobs with a little run, as opposed to shot that comes in low and runs and runs.

Unless you are taking them to a par 3 don't put them into play. For your first round you should play something that comes in a double dozen like the LaddieX, or Pinnacle. How about the Titleist SF Tour that costco sells.

Yes, technically the ignite is nearly the price, maybe even less, but when you consider the value of losing a nice ball, over a two piece. I always feel a sting when I lose a 3 peice, that Ive never felt with a 2 piece.

I mean, save the nicer balls when you have a better sense of how many you lose in a round.

My first round was a mountain course and I probably lost about 10 balls.
