Slump

After playing at my best for the past month im starting to go into a slump. My putting while not bad, is definitly not as good as it was a couple weeks ago and my driver/irons generally havent been too great. What Im wondering is what you guys do when you face a slump. I know it will work its way out but I was thinking of maybe switching putters for a little, or taking the driver out of the bag etc.

Pay attention and check your physical / mental condition.

Golf demands such fine detailed attention, even the slightly change will reflect in larger image.

Like, new medication? Drinking a bit more recently? Weather Change? Low in Potassium? A new girl friend?

Sorry, had to mention the last.

I always look at my physical well being, to see if anything changed, or maybe I was just playing too often and my body needs a break ( a mini break I hope ).

I sometimes recover in days, but the longest had been 8 months.

When I am not playing well, I check my aim with a club on the range. I also ask my dad or brother what looks different in my swing, and they will usually say that it's my tempo.

On the greens, I really try to commit to my line and speed.

My advice is to just go back to basics. You probably know what works for you, so just try to go back to it.

Do a checklist of the fundamentals. 90% of things that go wrong are probably in your setup, standing a little too far or something very small

Well I played nine holes today and realized that I think im more in a transitional phase. Im hitting horribly off the tee, its basically a huge push slice. I think its because I have made a pretty big change in my swing and my hands just arent turning over quick enough. I also noticed my 3 wood is like balloon central, but I think that is due to a change in tempo. I noticed that my irons and short game are still pretty solid so I dont think im in a slump as much as im in a transitional phase. I was able to shoot 40 and I hit maybe 2 fairways and 3 greens so not too bad. Once I start hitting fairways and greens I know ill be on a path to lower scores.
