Buying new Miura wedges...order with my current wedge shafts?

I’m replacing my PXG milled Gen 3 sugar daddy wedges that are pretty worn (and that I loved) with the Miura Tour High Bounce in 54 degrees and Miura K-Grind 2.0 in 60 degrees.

I’m currently playing the Nippon Modus3 Tour 120 S in my 54/60 (Nippon 950 GH NS Pro S in my iron set). None of the Miura authorized dealers in my area have the wedges for fitting unfortunately (not even the premium dealers).

Is it safe to order these wedges with the same wedge shafts I’m currently gaming (that I was fitted for) playing the same length and lie? I see the wedge weight on Miura’s website is 300g but haven’t been able to confirm PXG’s head weight. Called them to ask but waiting on an answer. Can the head weight be much different or is it safe to go with the current wedge shafts I was fitted into? Thanks in advance!

Sure - why not?  I ordered a set of Miura wedges recently (the LH Wedge Series) and ordered with my preferred shafts - Recoil Proto 125 F4 soft stepped.  Weight-wise they feel close to my previous set of Vokeys with the same shafts.  If you're really concerned, just specify a swingweight for your build to match your current wedges.

Solid advice. I ended up ordering today but actually decided to go with a different shaft on recommendation of a fitter and a friend who builds clubs. I realized my wedge shafts were about 25 grams heavier than my iron set shafts and stiff in the tip. So I moved down from the Nippon Modus3 Tour 120 S to the Shimada Tour Wedge W flex in 111 grams. Now my step up in weight should be 10-15 grams instead of 25. Should still have that slightly heavier feel but maybe not so much that it feels jarring. Also, the shaft profile is a low/mid launch high spin shaft with a stiff butt/mid-section but a softer tip section. On paper it sounds great, will have to see how it feels when it arrives and report back. Worst comes to worst I reshaft 2 wedges. No biggie. Thanks again!

I purposely have my wedges heavier and a little softer than my irons.  I have Recoil Proto 110 F4 in the irons and Recoil Proto 125 F4 soft stepped in the wedges (9 iron shaft in all 3 wedges, butt trimmed to the appropriate length for each).  Swingweight is consistent in the set so the higher static weight in the wedges isn't noticeable to me.

10-15 grams up from the irons with a softer shaft sounds like you're on the right track.  I'll bet they feel fine.  Good luck!

Awesome that’s what I was thinking. Should be a good move, we’ll see soon here. Thanks again for the advice!

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
