My swing and why its not working

need to know what to do, All Help appreciated

hello, I don't know if this is the right forum for this, but I'll give t a try.

My swing is very fundamental, come clean through the ball and am never off plane.

A problem I have been having is my irons. I got them from my uncle and he is a very all man compared to me. 6 foot 2 and stands very upright when he swings. I am 5 foot 4 by the way. Anyway, the clubs he gave me are 3 degrees upright and the shafts are 1 incl longer then normal, and everytime I swing from the fairway, the toe tends to jam in the ground, causing the club face to turn over, hardly ever producing good results.

I want to know if this can happen, and if it can, what should I do?

If you are 5'4" and the clubs are 3* upright and 1" long, you should be jamming the heel into the ground, not the toe. If you're jamming the toe into the ground with those specs, you either have extremely short arms are have a serious swing flaw.

I'm going on the assumption that you mis-spoke and areally jamming the heel into the ground.

The only thing you can do to correct it is to shorten the clubs and either have them bent flatter for you, or get some new clubs.

something similar happened to me, For the mean time I gripped down on them.
I got fitted for new irons and can really notice the difference.

Yeah I did, my bad for bi-accidentally saying that

The problem with gripping down is the clubs become too short and I get no distance

I think new clubs are in the future, YEAH YEAH :yes:

You should be standard to minus .5 in lengtch and standard to 3* flat. TGW.com has a cutom club fitting section where you can fit yourself just to get an idea. Go to the site then pick a set of irons then to go the custom club fitting tab and follow the instructions. Golf is hard enough, get fitted with irons that fit you. Good luck.

For real......

Do not try to build a game around those.

big jess has got it covered for you. You need a set of irons more tailored to your build.

I am 5'10 and I am using 3 degrees flat. (I think a lot of these "standard lies" are too upright)
