I'll almost garuntee a side view would tell this tale. I see the right leg straightening out and not a whole lot of pivot to the swing. This leads to a lean towards the target and losing width in the backswing. Hoganfan linked me to this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvOr5nNqYEw

I see similarities between your swing, swing flaws and the ones I'm working on. I hit irons well but the driver is inconsistant. SS is still up there despite the flaws but once I got it closer to "correct" with the pivot, it jumped 4-5mph. on avg. Hope this helped a little.

Your over rotation is hurting your momentum and binding your legs up. At the peak of your coil, it pulls you toward the target and forces you to straighten your right leg and rebalance behind the ball. When you unwind you have to try and speed up to get around, what you have going for you is you have quick hands which allows you to come back to square but overcompensation can really get you to spray the ball. If you try and keep your arms more solid (not ridgid or stiff) and straight , it will keep you at parallel or a tad over. Slow your tempo a bit and get more solid or 1 piece on your takeaway.

Try to limit the amount your left arm bends at the top, that bend pushes you across the line and past your peak coil position draining all power due to over rotation. You will increase your club head speed by staying within your motion. You are trying to get too long and it is slowing you down because when that arm bend (L), your arc "caves" in. You have all the basics for a very very powerful swing and I am amazed at how level you can keep your head all the way through which is a major positive. You have already established a strong lag position at the top storing power for a forceful impact and all the potential is there, just slow your tempo down and work on being more stable at the top and you will be killing the ball!

I am interested to see your numbers after the adjustments you make

Best of Luck and I hope my "observation" was helpful.

So I just got back from a long session at the range this afternoon. It is a beautiful day here in Rhode Island, 50* and sunny, just no time for me to get in a quick 9 holes, but range time will be sufficient.

I have taken some of the advice to heart here... so today I worked on trying to keep my left arm straight, and even getting my weight back onto my right leg and more into the middle of my stance. What I did find, was that when I got my weight, and my left arm in order, I hit the ball very solidly. I did have a couple of instances where I found that trying to keep my weight more in the middle of my stance/back of my stance, that I would almost come off the ball and catch it on the toe. When I did get it right though, I was very very impressed with those swings.

Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera with me today, but I think that I am onto something.

I also worked more on posture today, less curvature of my spine, and what I also found was that when I was keeping my weight more centered, I had more of a powerful base, and had a better balance point for my swing. I used to keep more of my weight in my toes, and at the end of my swing I would end up almost falling into my target/forward & right.

Thank you everyone for your ideas, and I am still all ears on thoughts, suggestions, drills for me to work on so that I can try and get my game to a higher level this year.

Thanks

Oaks

yes you need to work on u r posture I would surgest getting u r tail end out more at address and keeping ur weith on u r balls of u r feet. However in order to really fix this u are very JD like Daly... I know you have heard this before.

Anyway I would surgest u shorted it up .. daly can hit tons of g balls at the range it's his job and he can time it.

Here is the best way to shorten u r swing with feel "start ur transition" back swing to down swing when u r hand hit u r shoulders.

Don't worry u r momentum will carry u to parellel....it will feel really awkward at first but kn the long run it will work out..

At this time with swing all you can work on at the range is timing nothing else..However this will require a commitment.

I do not not live far from u so if you want PM me and I help you out.. I am not a pro so it will be free advice you can accept it or tell me to go ..blank off ..

Good luck buddy

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
