Donald Trump Owns another NJ Golf Course

A close friend of my Father and I, belong to an "exclusive" club in Colts Neck, NJ. The club was owned by 2 brothers in which one of them past away a month or so ago. Long story short, they owe the bank like $40 million. So the only option was to get the funds from the members, which wasnt happening, or sell it. So Donald Trump came in, had someone from the PGA Tour with him, and made an offer they couldnt refuse. Starting Sept. 1, the donald will have full control of this club. The best thing about this is the current members will get their money back in 3 years, and they will have reciprocity to all of Donald Trumps courses.

 

Dont be too shocked if the Champions & LPGA tour comes to the Jersey Shore in the next few years.

Yea when I was reading the initial post the only course I could think of was Due Process. I have never heard of Shadow Isle but im sure with him owning it they will get more publicity.

the lpga has already been out there a couple of years ago at Hamilton Farm Golf Club up in Gladstone, it hosted the HSBC Women's World Match play for two years

This is a GREAT golf course. I playing here in 2 weeks once the course drys out. LOVE the place. They are hosting a MID-AM this year.

I played Shadow Isle 5 or 6 times in the past 3 years. Its a nice course and a good layout. Trump wants to lengthen the course to some insane stupid distance.

As for members getting money back, good luck! I will tell you this, i'll bet you dollars to doughuts your dues will go up significantly. Trump clubs are famous from having high dues.

Trump talks the talk lets see what he delivers.

 

Still not sure why Trump wanted to paint the clubhouse white, it looked good before the paint job.

Yes it is. Anything east of Freehold in Monmouth County is considered the Jersey Shore.

 

So how is Bill Britton doing out there since he became Director of Instruction? Bill's a great guy and a good teacher and backs it up with qualifying for some Champions Tour events.

 

My son and I took lessons from him and his other instructors when he had his school at Twin Brooks... wish him nothing but the best.

For anyone who doesn't know the place, there's an aerial photo of Shadow Isle here. I've been looking at Donald Trump's golf course portfolio recently and one or two waterfall-related aberrations apart, the man seems to be acquiring some solid golfing real estate. It's just wading through all the hype and bombast that goes with it...

 

On a separate issue, I'm all ears as to how a golf course acquires the name Due Process...

It was a horse stable and farm before it was a golf course. Not sure where the name originated from, but it is ironic in that the owner received "due process" and now resides behind bars.

Just played Trump's Course in Colt's Neck last week...I am also a member of his most recent club purchase Trump National Wash DC....the course in colt's neck is a great design, however, due to the township and struggles to get approval for design changes to the course & surrounding area there is just not much improvement Trump can make to the course from what it is now....On the other hand, his recent course in DC has one thing Colt's Neck does not....the Potomac River....If Trump wants to turn Colt's Neck into a Tour-event-worthy golf course, he's going to need a lot more structural changes than he is able to make at the facility.
