@socalkris

With the right shaft length lie angle grip size etc I'd have to imagine That **any** of those iron sets can be used to shoot under par in a **major** right now in 2019.

Which ones are going to help go from mid 80's to mid 70's faster? Probably none of them.

Since your taste is so excellent I'd say just get what you like the best or makes you feel the best I think that's where the biggest pay-off is going to be.

Personally I like irons that

* Have an interesting story

* Are shiny

* Work for players better than me

Secondarily I like irons that I can control:

* Distances

* Trajectories

Let's pretend I put the 2nd set of criteria first. (guffaw)

So if any of those four have weaker lofts that might be a plus for better misses and more control in shot shaping. I strongly doubt the long irons are going to be very useful at all to shoot your lowest scores. Hybrids or GI improvement irons produce better results for most of us. Including pros at the 3-4 irons.

Personally I'd love to tell the story of Muira or the 2016 Open Championship or the undiscovered excellence of Epon. Or Apex 16's... perfect blend... Or any of the other incredible reasons to play any of those 4.

I might add if you are going for clubs this "classy" set aside some money and time to be able to get shafts that fit you and the irons really well because it would be a waste to skimp or compromise there with such great irons. Tertiary I'd add might as well splurge on some great looking ferrules too for custom look to justify some of the best irons available.

Great advice, I found some af-303 heads to build for a great price but the reason for that is it's only 4-7. Now I have to find 8-p that will work for me. Anyways, I'll have some fun with it. I probably should have gone with something more forgiving in the long irons but the 303's are supposed to be more on the forgiving side. We'll see ?

Legacy black is like af302 with less offset. Feel wise miura is solf as well as srixon. Black is a wee bit clicky on par with epon. Personally I'd pick the legacy or the miura jst for the lesser offset. I know you heart says 303 but the logic is always different.

Thanks a lot! I have the Callaways and the 303 is coming. I found a full set of each of them for pretty good deals so I'll try them both and I'll probably be able to sell the one I don't use for a small profit. They both seem pretty sweet and I'm sure I'll be happy with one of the sets. I had already tried the near us which are really nice clubs but if you hit it off the toe it is very unforgiving so I hope that the Epons or Callaways have a little more forgiveness in them.
