So I've owned 5 or 6 golf bags in my lifetime from my first one which I picked up at a garage sale in 1995 followed by the Wallyworld special in 1997 through the multi-SAM launcher (go go plastic tubes) I inherited from my grandfather-in-law. Recently I've been gaming a Taylor Made stand bag that was so small with my 5 headcovers it looked like a giant red canoli. Not to mention I have 1 TM club, an antique Tour Performance 56* so it really makes no sense.

So with a little bit of the Christmas spirit (aka Cash) I went shopping. I'm obsessive about things like this.

Task 1-
read all the reviews online of all the leading candidate

Task 2-
tick my wife off by making her stand in Dick's for an hour while I pull all the cart bags out into the aisle and persevorate over them- rereading specs, opening every pocket 6 or 8 times, etc

Task 3-
purchase a Datrek cart bag for $99

Task 4-
get in the car and decide I'm not satisfied with 1) my selection 2) Dick's selection

Task 5-
be told in no uncertain terms that I am not going back in there, I can deal with this when she's not with me....

Task 6-
reread all the reviews on golfwrx

Task 7-
return the Datrek

Task 8-
repeat task 2 at Golfsmith

So in the end it came down to the Ogio Atlas and the Sun Mountain C-130. The putter tube was the final determine factor. That and I just didn't trust the zipperless ball pocket on the Ogio to not dump all my Juice 312's all over the cart path the way my buddies drive carts.

Here's a couple picks of the winner. So far I'm thrilled. I went from overstuffed pockets on the TM walker to having a couple empty ones waiting for me to find more junk to put in them.

In my experience that's the best cart bag on the market. I have 2. This years and the original 130. Virtually no wear.

Used it today- absolutely LOVE it. So spacious, the 14 way divider is excellent. Only issue is its so big I don't think you could fit 2 on the same cart! I had to take my street shoes out of the side pocket and leave them in the car just so we could get another bag on the cart!

Anyway- highly recommended to anyone in the market for a premium bag.

If you can find the '08's they are identical to the '09's but $20 cheaper. No difference except what colors are available. I got the last '08 at my local Golfsmith.

If you don't stuff the monstrous side pockets full 2 fit on a cart easily.

FWIW, PGATour Superstore here sells for $159 all day

I had just tossed them in there when I pulled my golf shoes out... guess all the extra space had gone to my head!

And my swing speed would fit right in on the LPGA tour too... so what's the point haha?
