Nike NDS irons

I currently own a set of Taylor Made RAC Combo irons but i am looking for something a little more pleasing to the eye. I recently hit a few of my mates Nike NDS irons and thought although they looked like diggers shovels that they felt really good and forgiving. I am very tempted to get a set and pimp them to my needs (new shafts and grips etc etc). I can get these for £299 GBP, however my friend has offered me a set of Mizuno Mp-60's for £400 and i am not sure what to go for. I also have to bear in mind that the less money i spend the better!. I feel the Nikes will be easier to hit and more forgiving when i dig it round the links. Has anyone had any experiences with these irons?

the nike nds are one of the most under rated cavity back sets out there. sabatini was playing them earlier this year (not sure if he is still using them now).

its a tough call there. the nds are nice and a solid club, but the mp-60 have the soft mizuno forging and a very pleasing design to the eye. however the mp-60 launch the ball high. the mp-60 with dg s300 i was hitting the ball as high as the nds with speed step steel shafts (light weight high trajectory shaft). you can get the nds and reshaft and get a low ball flight which could be very important with you playing the links.

Thanks for that, it was really helpful. I am considering black golds or project xs in them. Saying that i cang et a set of s300s very cheap so i may go with them. Are the original shafts any good as i may want to sell them on ebay?

stay away from the rifles if you are looking fo a lower ball flight! Ths NDS are a great stick for the price and like mentioned are underrated. If you are looking for forgiveness then the NDS is the way to go.

I have a new set of NDS's that I am fixing to set up nice. The factory uniflex shafts are junk in my opinion unless you have a pretty slow swing and have a hard time getting the ball airborn so I am fixing the test a few shafts to see if it will bring the ball flight down. Im going to try Dynamic Gold SL s300's this week in a couple of clubs to see how they feel. I'll post a followup. The club head design is very nice on the NDS and the feel is much better then I thought it would be. I to think that the NDS is a very underated club. I think with a good shaft they will be nice clubs.

I have a set of NDS irons and the only knock I have is the shafts. I am getting ready to reshaft mine, but I am not set on which shaft I want to put into them.

I'm looking at all of the Nike irons. I know, I should just try them all, but I'd appreciate any insights between, in parkticular, the NDS, tour slingshots and tour combo's. I'm a low-90's medium swing speed...thanks!

Don't count out the original Slingshots. They are good sticks. I shot anywhere from 72-82 and I love them. They have little offset and set up great and launch the ball nice. The hit a little long and a little high but I manage them ok. Plus they can be had for a fair price now new in the box. The soles are a little big but tiny compared to the new OSS.
