surprised
got 2 doz from golf galaxy for 12.99 per dozen. Saw them and figured at that price they were worth a try. My normal gamer is the cally tour ix or nob.

this is a 3 piece urathane covered ball.
First impression: tough to get over looking down at that top flite logo, i dont want to sound like a snob but it didnt inspire much confidence.

distance was acceptible may 5-10 yards shorter off the driver for me, but pretty similar distance off the irons maybe a yard or two shorter but hard to say. the ball flight was pleasantly boring, i was expecting it to be quite a bit higher than the "lower spin" balls I normally play but it wasnt that much higher. the ball felt very controlable I felt comfortable working it in either direction with out it getting away from me.

spin will take some time to get used to. full shots with 8i-w were comming back at a scary pace. I landed the ball about 4 feet past the pin on the first hole with a 9i and it spun back about 20 feet to the front fringe. greens were a little soft but that was still crazy spin for me. half and 3/4 wedge spin was great, within 12 inches of the pitch mark with a normal trajectory shot, one hop and stop with a low flighted spinner was not a problem. Greenside spin wasnt as great as i had hoped on little chips and pitches. acceptible but less than you would expect after hitting a few shots into the green.

not the most durable ball out there by any means, I can usally (not always) get through a round with 1 ix tour or nob, I played 3 of these this round and 2 of them i would not put back in play, the other would be questionable.

this ball felt really good, soild on the woods and irons and soft off the putter. Maybe feels just a touch harder than a pro-v1x, although If you putted them side by side without seeing the logos I'm not sure you would be able to tell which was which.

Overall very impressed with this ball, I did find myself having to make a big effort to controll the spin and hit a lot more 3/4 shots into the greens but for 12.99 a dozen you are not going to find anything even close to this ball, I even think you would be hard pressed to find a better ball for double the price. Is it going to kick my gamer out of bed? Absoultly not, but will I play it for weekday or non competitive (if there is such a thing) rounds, absoultly.

side note this ended up a lot longer than I had anticipated.

Thanks for the review. Is it made in the USA or China? I find a lot of the lower priced balls are made in China or Taiwan.

Is it pretty straight and long? I have been playing D2 Straights and they are hot off the driver, a little heavy on the irons but not bad and hot off the putter. If I practice put they are fine.
