CDC International Pro-Am at Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic

I wanted to see if any fellow WRXers went or are going to the CDC International Pro-Am at Casa De Campo this year or in previous years?!

I was there from Jan. 11th through the 18th, for the first run of the tournament. I think there's another in February and one in March?

Overall it was an awesome time! If you've ever heard about it and considered going, I would definitely recommend it. The tournament is 4 days, 1 best ball of 4 for two days and 2 best balls for the final two days. The packages are all inclusive either 5 or 7 days. We sent down two groups from my club. 2 of us members and the head pro came for 7 days, and the rest of the guys and the assistant pro came for the 5 days. I would definitely recommend the 7 days if you're going down there to enjoy it and have fun! We got there Saturday afternoon, played 9 right after getting there. We played 36 Sunday. Played 27 Monday, and greeted the rest of the guys once they got there and went out to play a few more holes.

If it's in your budget and you can get your group to do it, I'd definitely recommend 7 days, unless you can get a really early flight. We flew in from Newark NJ on a 7:45 am flight, got to Punta Cana Airport about 12:15 local time. From there with customs and baggage claim, and the commute to the resort, we weren't at the hotel until like 2 pm. The guys who came Monday had a 9:00am flight, didn't get in until about 2:00 local time, and didn't get to the resort until 3:30-4:00. After checking in, they barely had time to even hit the range/putting green before dark to warm up for the tournament start the next day.

Overall the experience was awesome. I had a great time, even though I didn't play well at all. Teeth of the Dog is an awesome track and a must play I would say if you're ever in the Dominican. It's worth the drive from Punta Cana or other resort areas. Dye Fore was also spectacular. I think it loses some credit due to being on the same resort as Teeth, but it's a fantastic course.

Let me know if anyone was there two weeks ago! We may have unknowingly met in passing. If anyone's going in the future, enjoy it! If you're even considering going, DO IT!!!

I'm heading down Tuesday to the event. All I've head are great things. World class event etc. Anything I should know about to make the trip even better? Did you take caddies every day?
