I am by no means a pro.. but I will try to give you my two cents. The first thing that stands out to me is it seems your are muscling the club - You are tense with your arms, not letting the club swing freely. Make sure that you are gripping the club lightly and feeling the weight if the club as you swing. Secondly, it looks like you have a lot of Noise in your lower body as you swing. Try to keep your left foot planted if not a little off the ground. Hope this helps!

Braap it sure looks like you're off to a pretty good start.

If you can get a lesson or two - that always help anyone new to the game. There are online lessons available as well for a next best choice... where your swing is analyzed and suggestions offered by a teaching pro. Those don't cost an arm and a leg.

Back in the day - when we couldn't do any of the above we would read books like Golf My Way (Jack Nicklaus) or Ben Hogan's book called Modern Fundamentals of Golf - 5 Lessons.

From just me and my eye -- I would google the grip and basic setup. Then get the left arm a little straighter going back. There is quite a bit of swaying going on over the back foot in your backswing. Notice how you drift away from the target and over that back foot? Normally in a swing there is a good bit less sway and more of a turning action in a way that the body sort of winds around the inside of the back inner thigh and instep. They used to call it getting "coiled up" but nowadays that term seems to not be used as much - folks just call it a simple turn these days.

The idea being you will more consistently find the ball and the swing will bottom out in the same place when you slide a little less to the left and right.

when you're talking about my lower body swaying or noise in my lower body are you saying I need to keep try and keep my lower body stiff and not let my hips move so far?

Braap, that is correct. Perhaps it would be better to say keep your lower body "still" not stiff... stiffness in a golf swing restricts the athletic motion throughout the swing. It illustrates what is meant by "swaying," and it also provides a good drill to help eliminate that sway and develop the proper "feel". If you don't have an alignment rod, a good alternative is to put a golf ball under the outer part of your right foot... while stepping on the golf ball, take some practice swings, and if your lower body begins to sway, you will feel the pressure in your foot as you are getting more on top of the golf ball.
