Any thoughts would be appreciated. I play to a 4-5 handicap most of the time. These shots were both hit with a 6-iron on about a 5 yard draw.

Firstly - Welcome to WRX Slammy.

There are uncountable ways of getting that stick to orbit around behind us and bring it back through. You have found YOUR way of doing it and it evidently has worked so well you have a nice single digit handicap. Not condescending here or telling you what to do... I just can't help wondering if the next few handicap points wouldn't more likely be shaved from 100 yards in.

You have a nice shallow AoA, there is nice rhythm and overall balance. Unless there are some common misses or ball flight issues you are fighting, I'm not 100% sure I would change much. You do a great job of working that right elbow down in front of the right hip through impact.

A purist would argue your grip is too strong and your shoulder turn is entirely too level. Those are things that for me personally would lead to trouble with the longer clubs. Funny thing is many of those same purists would love to have your results at the end of the day.

Thanks a lot for the reply. I've been sending video back and forth with one of my friends and he has some of the same things to say you did. I'm probably going to work on weaking my grip a touch moving forward in addition to addressing what I feel like is a discontinuity between my shoulder turn and hip turn. They look a little disconnected on film and I think I'm giving up some distance and consistency there. My stock iron shot is a 5 yard draw with my miss being a 10-15 yard draw but not quite a hook (I don't miss often enough that I think it's a problem though). I can hit a slight fade but moving it left to right with my irons is a bit of a struggle some days, I'm hoping weakening my grip will give me some of those shots when I need them. If a pin doesn't fit my shape, I've been playing to the center of greens and giving up some birdie looks. Not a bad situation to be in but I'd like to be a plus handicap someday.

There's a constant battle in my head raging between the player who see something on video that he doesn't like and would like to fix and the other guy who says 50% GIR is pretty good and I should hit the putting green a little harder...

I've got a small tournament this weekend, I'll probably stick with what I have this week and get going next week.
