Penley ETA reviews...

Anyone have any reviews for the Penley ETA Tour or ETA 75? I'm looking for a high kick, 65-75g, low trajectory (boring) shaft without having to break the bank.

played this shaft off and on since the 975j series. in my opinion the 975j was a disaster compared to the 975d. but, when i put the penley eta tour in it, this driver(975j) became more playable. i also used it in my 983k and e. it has excellent ball speed, it was once said that when titleist tested it, it had the highest ball speed of all there exotic shaft offerings. on a launch monitor, i also found this to be true. this shaft has moderate spin,mid ball flight. it is not as smooth as some higher end shafts, but it definitely performs. if i couldn't get high end fujis, i would still play it!

I agree.. this is an excellent shaft for the player looking for a high kick, lower spinning shaft. Personally, I have had a lot of luck with this shaft, both the Tour and the 75gram version and am still playing it today. The only knock that I have found on it, it is also appears others have as well, is that the shaft is very inconsistent from shaft to shaft. Overall, for the money, I feel that it is an excellent shaft. I know that it has treated me well over the years, unfortunately, I have since moved on... Currently installing a USDA V2 Proto in my R580XD and having my J33R Kwok'd with a ZCOM BW65.

Best of luck... very good shaft for the buck!

I had this exact shaft in a TM R7 retail. it was professionally installed spined and floed. Really a lovely shaft . Could feel the kick and when I connected it was just wonderful. Unfortunately this marriage didn t last long since the driver was stolen. Now playing a G2 (under lock and key) with a Fuji 553 and thats a very nice combo as well

well my experience with the eta tour x shaft was not the greatest. my ss is 110-115, and i felt if i swing at 80% im fine, but when i wanna get on one, the shaft feels so weak. i actually freq it and its freq at 249 which is so weak its ridicolous. i would put in the stealth 70 which is 74 grams high kick with low spin, great shaft....have it in my 3wood its a rocket....i would go with the eta....persoanlly
