I am a 3 handicap at the age of 15 but do not know what the next step is to become even better than I am now. Any opinions would help.

short game and course managment............anyone that can smack it around good enough to be a 3 handicap can be a plus handicap with good course managment (ie not hitting drive when it is not needed and taking anything worse than bogey out of play) and the ability to save pars when your having an off day

Yeah, I suppose you would really have to sharpen your short game to the point where you can get up and down from anything that isn't a crazy stupid lie. You prob need to hit atleast, atleast 12-13 greens a round, so you probably need to work on accuracy and short game the most, as well as practicing sinking those 10'ers. And what ^ he said about course management, playing as high percentage golf as possible but knowing when to go for it. Eg. Tiger Woods in R3 & R4 of the PGA Championship. Learn your strengths, your weaknesses and play to those strengths and work on your weaknesses. I'm no scratch golfer by any means but I sort of understand where I have to go (I am a single figure h'caper when I play once/twice a week and I've only been playing for 1 and 1/2 years) means , what I have to do and how to do it, I just don't have enough time with senior school to practice the way I would like to and to see my instructor as much as I would like to. Tee shots and short game. Make sure that you can drive the ball in the fairway a good 75% of the time, as this will give lots of opportunities. Also, make sure you're chipping from 5 yards off the green is good, and your bunker play is good as these will be the shots you will mostly face when you miss greens
