Quail Lodge & Golf Club Carmel Valley

As you may or may not know my wife and I spend a lot of time in the Pebble Beach area. This time my wife and I are headed in a couple of weeks for a short 2 day stay at Quail Lodge & Golf Club. If you've never been to Quail in Carmel Valley it's a beautiful place to stay and very quiet. We always get a Premier King Guestroom which they call a cottage and there's no one over you and your patio faces the 14th fairway.

There's also a 9 hole putting green between a few of the buildings and it's not an easy 9 holes.

The two restaurants are good, The Covey and Edgars which is at the golf course. There's also a couple of hole in the wall good restaurants across the street.

The golf course is semi-private and is always in pristine condition. It's a fun course for all level of golfers although not like Pebble or Spyglass. They have a range, chipping and putting area as well. The course plays at 6,500 (71.3/128).

Usually when I go out I'm by myself and not too many others on the course that I can see so it's usually a pretty fast round.

By the way the temperature is usually from 10 - 15 degrees warmer than the Monterey Peninsula!

The first day will be wine tasting and dining in Carmel Valley. Day 2 will be golf and dining.

 

Wow, I found out when we were at Pebble a few weeks ago and I was talking to a waiter that we've known for 24 years that even though he doesn't golf he told me that he would take me to play Pebble sometime this year as his guest. I've always known that Pebble employees can play most of the courses I believe quarterly and Pebble periodically. Another good thing for him is that as a Pebble employee for more than 25 years, he will get free golf for life!!!

I have played Quail a few times, fun track! Mother-in law used to live 5 min down the road at Hacienda Carmel. Played there Christmas Day a handful of years ago. Quail, Bayonet/Blackhorse, and Poppy pre renovation were my go to places.

I always have a good time at Quail and sometimes I'll get a cart and my wife will ride with me. I know exactly where Hacienda Carmel is located and it's one of only two 55 and over communities in the area.
