Odyssey Stroke Lab Grip Weighting

I'm about to pull the trigger on an Odyssey Stroke Lab Marxman but I'm not massively sold on the grips.

Does anyone on here know the actual grip weight of the oversize standard grip (heard it's 65g but not confirmed)? Also, Odyssey say there is an additional 40g located at the grip end. Is the 40g weight inside the shaft?

So, weight-wise I'd either go for a straight swap 65g grip if the weight is in the shaft or a heavier grip if the weight is in the grip.

Edit: I always get mixed up. Does a heavier grip make the head feel lighter and vice versa? Cheers

Oversize is 65g, Pistol is 75g. Weight is 40g/30g respectively, which is a weight plug located in the grip end of the shaft, so yes, choosing a similar weight of grip would keep the same balance. And yes, a heavier grip reduces the swingweight in theory i.e. makes it feel lighter.

 

I just swapped my oversize for a Winn Dri-Tac Jumbo Lite, which at 55g is slightly lighter. I’ll be darned if I can notice any difference in the feel of the weight, but now have a grip that sits nicely in my hands.

Thanks for your help. So the weight in the shaft isn't easily disturbed when re-gripping?

No, mine wasn’t. It’s a proper weight plug pushed into the end of the shaft. This sort of thing. I scraped all the old tape off at all angles and the weight didn’t move.
