any improvement??

Anyone played there recently? I haven't been there in 4 or 5 years, but I remember it was in horrible shape so I haven't been back since. I was looking at their website (don't know what made me think of it) and the pictures look like there may have been some work done to put some life back into it. Its a great layout, but the poor conditions always kept me away.

Kind of the same situation as Waterwood, which is still one of my favorite courses - any update on that place? I know they have ridiculously cheap stay and play packages, so if we can get confirmation that the course is in good shape, I'd be up for a trip north to play 36 or 54.

I played at Texas National one time for a tournament, not in very good shape, but shot a 73-74 with my real 14 handicap at the time. It's been probably 8 yrs now though

 

 

Waterwood has some of the best deals and probably the best layout in Texas, but the course conditions were horrendous when we went probably 6 years ago. If the conditions improve there, that place would beat out Barton Creek!!

We used to drive to Waterwood when I was at A&M and play all day for less than $30. There was virtually no bermuda on the course at all (all weeds), but for a poor college student, it was hard to beat to play such a good layout. Right about when I started pharmacy school, new owners took over and really turned the place around, but it was hit and miss after about a year. A group of us would make the drive up every couple of months or so, and it was either in great shape, or "Greatwood" shape :bb2: . Its still one of my top two or three favorite courses in Texas that I've played, I'm just past the point where I'd drive 2 hours to play somewhere that's not kept up - I can do that in my own neighborhood......

they came out friday the 16th and we just got home on tuesday....AND ALL HELL HAS BROKEN LOOSE!

our clean house now has poo everywhere, towels everywhere....i tried to rush them to the bathroom yesterday and the girl pees all over the place..then the boy (while changing him) decides to start peeing straight up the air


got bags in my eyes and a stye yesterday...called in the troops last night and finally got some sleep.....my mom and sister, however, are dead tired....
