Bushnell igolf sync app

Hi all,

 

I am trying to update my Bushnell Phantom GPS but the igolf sync app on my iMac will not start for some reason reason. Installation of the app seems to work but the app does not launch. Any idea what the issue might be?

Has the combination worked in the past?  If so try deleting and re-installing the app.  I use this app with my Bushnell Excel watch on an Apple I-phone and have never had any issues.

Many thanks. This was the first time trying to use my Mac for updating the Phantom. Interesting that it is working for you. What version of macOS do you have installed? I am on 12.3.1.

I have an iPhone using 15.4.1 software.  Works fine.  I'm not aware that the app was designed to work on a computer.  Phone use only as it has some features you would use on the golf course.

Just to clarify: I am not referring to the Bushnell app on the iPhone. That one is working fine. The problem I have is with the Bushnell iGolf sync app which is required to be installed on a Mac or PC to update the firmware and map data of the Phantom via USB cable: https://service.bushnell.com/s/article/Installing-iGolf-Sync-Application-on-Computer

The software woks fine on a friend's Windows PC but I cannot get it to work on my Mac.

That's good to know it will work on a computer.  I just looked at my owners manual after seeing your response and it does say the computer requirements needed.  However the instructions only talk about using the device Bluetooth mode with a phone and setup procedure.  I'm guessing that Bushnell therefore optimized use for a smartphone.  My experience with the app is its super easy to use with an iPhone.  The data on the phone shows detailed images of each hole which you need on the course - not necessarily on your home computer. To upgrade course data on the phone only takes a few seconds per course which is handy if the course was updated after the initial loading of course data into the Bushnell.

I am having the same issue with my mac.  The sync app downloads fine but will not launch.  When I try to open it there is an error message stating the app wants to make changes and requests my mac password.  It appears to accept the password but still will not run.  Any suggestions?????
