New Srixon Ad333?

I have not tried the newer Ad333 golf ball. I hear good things about it but I remember reading that the older model/s of this ball were high launching golf balls. I hit the ball very high and wonder if the newer model is still considered "high launching?" I am looking for a 2 piece ball that provides good stopping power on the greens. It does not need to spin, just stop close to its pitch. Thanks for your time.

I have tried them and like them. I tend to be a high ball/spin hitter. The AD333 stop on 5-PW full swings for me. They will roll out a bit with less than full swings in the wedge department. I tried the E5+ and didn't get on well with them at all. Found that I lost between 1 to 1.5 clubs worth of distance from 5i-52*. The driver was mostly the same. The AD333 can't hold a candle to the E5+ around the green or bunkers. The E5+ will stop within a few feet, the AD333 will definitely roll.

As far as iron distance and green stopping is concerned I found that the E6+ was much more similar to the AD333. Srixon's website says that the E6+ is more like the TriSpeed but I found the iron distance to be like the AD333 with a little less hold on the greens. Meaning, 3-5 foot roll for AD333 would be 6-8 foot roll for E6+. I tried the TriSpeed but preferred the AD333.

I'm going to try the TaylorMade TP Red/LDP today (assuming the thunderstorms stay away). From what I read the TP Red will hit more like the AD333/E6+ with my irons but check-up better on the greens like an E5+. If the TP Reds fail to impress I'm going back to AD333 and start looking to change my next piece of equipment.

I'll never be as good at golf as I want but it sure is fun doing research on the next great piece of equipment.

I used nothing but the AD333 for a year and I like them quite a bit, especially in hot weather when they felt really soft on contact with the putter and wedges. Anyway, the cover is soft, but the ball doesn't spin like a premium ball or even the e5+. To me, it's a soft feeling ball that goes far off my particular driver/swing.

I am trying/tried the e5+ and it spins quite a bit off the driver. It's a darn good ball for someone with a game that can benefit from that spin. It's early, but I think I cannot handle all that spin off the driver.

I wanted to take the Bridgestone Challenge to erase all doubt, but the machine was broken the day I traveled to take the test.

I dont find it a high launching ball. (the only ball I have played in the past few years that went too high for me was the Srixon Zurc - too much spin)

The AD333 is soft feeling for a 2 piece and stopped nicely for me. It is not a ball that will spin whole lot.

FW's: Callaway Rogue 4w

i agree with everything that's already been posted in the thread, one thing i've noticed with the newer AD333 is that it's much more durable. i've had instances where i've hit trees and been on some pretty nasty hard sort of lie, and yet the ball is hardly scratched.

has anyone else noticed the improvement in durability?

To be honest, I can't tell if the cover is more durable or not for I lose them to quickly.... <grin> Seriously, I do manage to keep a ball for awhile. The AD333 cover is soft and has the soft feeling. The trade off is durability. When I buy a $19.95 or less golf ball, it is what it is and it will have shortcomings compared to a premium ball.
