do stronger lofts always equal more distance?

HI, I was wondering if stronger lofts always equal more distance. I don't seem to hit the newer clubs with the stronger (46wedge) lofts as far as I do the old 49 wedge. I think the higher ball flight might help me, is this possible?

I am not interested so much in distance, but this is something interesting I have noticed.

So do stronger lofts always equal more distance? I think the stronger lofts are harder to hit, and could promote scooping for those new to golf.

Less loft does mean more distance. But you said new clubs,,,, could be a different shaft or anything making the difference. You cant compare loft for difference in distance on 2 different golf clubs. JMO And yes anything with less loft or a longer shaft will be a little harder to hit. The same reason its easier to hit a wedge than a 3 iron,,,, alot less loft and longer shaft.

Just because your wedge says 46 degrees on it doesn't mean its 46 degrees. Shafts also play a huge role in distance as does the bounce angle. I had a Vokey 260.06 that I could hit 110, when I got the 60.08 spin milled I couldn't hit it over 100. It completely varies club to club.

Just because your wedge says 46 degrees on it doesn't mean its 46 degrees. Shafts also play a huge role in distance as does the bounce angle. I had a Vokey 260.06 that I could hit 110, when I got the 60.08 spin milled I couldn't hit it over 100. It completely varies club to club.

a 60* wedge 110 is just insane

It was probably the extra spin the spin milled provided that is making the new club come up shorter.
