Any Love?

I was trying a few new putters the other day and was very impressed with this putter. I tried the No.1 and No2. and loved the feel and consistency. I've never actually gamed an Odyssey before but the ones I have tried have felt a little on the mushy side. The insert on the Tour seemed a little firmer?

Ideally they'd do the 355g in the 35" but you can't have everything. Either way I'm thinking of getting one - probably a 34" which I will have extended.

Anyone else playing one of these? I'd be interested to hear any other feedback....

I bought the White Hot Tour #5 (34"). I'm still on my honeymoon with it; can't seem to put it down. What strikes me about it is how balanced it feels. I love the insert. My putts seem more consistent than ever -- not that I'm holing every putt, but when I do miss, I miss very very close. The weight of my face-balanced #5 seems to promote a silky smooth back-and-forth stroke. I'm so glad I tried this. More glad that I bought it.

Glad you're putting well and that the No. 5 is working well. I hope to get the same sort of consistency from mine. Used the Spider for a while and really liked it but struggled with distance control from long distance, even after playing with the weights. I just always seem to be drawn back to something more traditional and with the Tour I think you get the best of both. The insert felt fantastic and the roll I was getting was as good as with the Spider IMO.

I tried out the White Hot Tour as well as the Black i putters. Both seemed very good and very similar. Feel was equally firm -I think the insert is exactly the same material. Weight wise the 33" Tour putter (355gr) felt slightly heavier than the equivalent i series. I ordered the Tour Putter N°1 - 33"- can't wait to give it a real world tryout!

So after pulling the trigger on a White Hot Tour No.1, I took it out for a test run over two rounds this weekend and I am very pleased with it.

I went with a 34" 355g head and had it extended to 35". I need the additional length as I am 6ft 4" tall but wanted the heavier head weight. I left the lie angle as standard and actually prefer it a little flatter that I used to have my old putters - something recommended by Stan Utlley.

The weight and look of the tour are superb and I found distance control on long putts, much much better than with the TM Spider. It was also very solid in the 2ft - 6ft range, particularly when I focussed on my left wrist not breaking down. The roll on well struck putts was as good as I used to get from my Spider and Zing.

Overall a very solid putter and one I would recommend to anyone on the hunt for a new flatstick. Plus it's all the better after giving it the aftermarket 'Tempest' treatment. Let's hope I feel this good about it after the honeymoon period wears off!
