Pelz versus ESPN school

Has anyone attended either the Pelz or ESPN one day programs? I am interested in attending either. Pelz is more short game and ESPN short and driving. Cost similar but ESPN gives NIke Sasq driver with one day power tour or driver, wedge, putter with three club one day course. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. :drinks:

I went the Pelz one day school and I wouldn't reccomend it. It's very expensive and while you do get some good freebies (teacher clips, putting tutor) you can make those things out of everyday objects around the house. The student teacher ratio was poor, and it was the Pelz way or no way. The instructors were knowledgeable about the Pelz system, but they would not entertain any other questions about other short game ideas. Also, the Pelz way is a good system if you can perfect it, but for me it took a lot of feel out of things and requires a LOT of practice to maintain. When I was using it, the Pelz system was the first thing to get rusty.

 

I think whatever school you go to really depends on the quality of the teaching staff, and in that respect you're basically gambling with your money. I think spending the money with a well respected teacher in your area is a much better way to improve your game.

I have to say that if you go to the Pelz school trying to chalenge them about technique you have wasted your time and anyone who had to listen to you.

the Pelz school is a research based aproach to scoring with very proven statistic methods. if you aren't ready to commit to the information you should not go.

I just finished a 3 day school and it has been been informative and usefull. I did not use most of thier methods before I went but the purpose of going was to learn "Dave Pelz" method. the only downer was a person in our group that kept chalenging the instructor because thier "pro" told them something else....how many times do you have to hear "listen, learn, ask questions to help you understand and then stick with what works for you"? the instructors are there to teach you the Pelz method, not debate you.

I really think that if you go to a method school looking to prove your way is better you either have too much money or time on your hands to waste.
