Direct comparison: FT-3 Tour vs X460 Tour

Hoping some of you can give me direct comparison between the FT-3 Tour and X460 Tour, in terms of distance, workability, forgiveness, feel, etc. I haven't been able to demo the new X460 Tour yet, but have heard some good things. I'm switching from the 905T in hopes of getting a little more distance and forgiveness. Current handicap of 3 with SS of 105-108 mph. Thanks!

I actually have each version with a 757 shaft. I have a 757 shafted 8.5* FT-3 and I also have a 757 shafted 8.5* X 460 Tour. I'm play to an index of just over 7 right now and my ss is anywhere from 111-114 depending on the shaft/clubhead, etc. I have been playing the FT-3 since last summer and love the 757 in that head. I have a draw biased and I absolutley cannot make the ball fade or go right at all in that configuration. I'm perfectly fine with that. My bad shots are strong draws with plenty of distance but finish 10-20 yards too far left. VERY consistent driver and VERY forgiving. You have to really put a bad swing on this club to get a poor result. Never thought I would be taking that stick out of my bag. Well, then I got an X 460 tour, reshafted and spent a few days on the range with it hitting it side by side with my FT-3. It really is almost too close to call but the X 460 is now in my bag along with the 13* Tour 3 wood. The X460 gets the ball up in the air a little easier I suppose due to the difference in internal weighting. I can move the ball right with this club but it really wants to go striaght. I can jump on the X 460 more so than the FT-3 also, I assume due to the internal weighting differences. As I said the X wants to just go straight. When I jump on the FT-3 the draw bias seems to be exaggerated and that is when I overcook that draw I mentioned earlier.

I tend to get a little more runout with the FT-3 but more carry with the 460. Like I said, it's nearly too close to call. I do have a .5" longer shaft in the 460 and that might be the difference for me. I get nearly idenitcal distances with each. One club allows me to work the ball left, the other right. It just seems to be easier to get the same results with the 460.

The 3 wood is also very solid and loooong. Feel is better with the X Tour 3 wood than the strong fusion 3 and it is also easier to hit off the deck.

Hope that helps.

I have been testing both as well. I have an FT-3 Tour Neutral in 9.5 and an X460 Tour 9.5. Both are shafted with an NV-65 Stiff. The FT-3 has those 1-2 WOW drives each round but I have to be very smooth with this club or some wildness can set it. When I'm on with it, it's the best I've hit for trajectory and distance. The X460 however is just a consistent club all around. As previously stated, it just wants to go straight. I'm hitting this club with a pentrating ball flight with a slight fade. What I really like is that you can go after it and not be penalized, it almost wants you to go after it. Also, the runout on this club is much better for me than the FT-3. I've never gotten so much run out of a driver before. As much as I like the good days with the FT-3 it's going to be hard overlook the consistency of the X460 Tour.

Thanks for the replies....anybody else??? Any prefences on the look at address? I'm hoping to demo the X-460 tour tomorrow, but it sounds like I can't go wrong either way.

I absolutly love how the X Tour has the rockers on the bottom. The club always sits dead square.

Great stock shaft as well with the Tour Platform.
