Anyone shed any light on performance-quality

So I was checking out the eye candy on Tourspec and noticed the geotech irons and the reasonable prices. I love the clean look and they are all forged. I'm a midcapper and am still looking for that perfect set of forgiving forged irons. They have a few kinds that fall into that category, paticularly a set of sweet black forged irons made for mid cappers.

I have no experience with JDM gear. Can anyone please comment on the quality and performance of the geotech brand. I noticed it is a good bit cheaper than alot of the irons on Tourspec. Are they the walmart of JDM equipment of is it good stuff. Any help is greatly appreciated, if I can get some feedback I may order a set, they are stunning.

I play the Geotech EK forged shafted with Graphite Design Tour AD 75 and they are as good as any premium JDM. Recently I had another set of CNC forged built for a friend shafted with AXIV graphite but I still prefer the EK in feel and precision. Both models mentioned are Japan forged while other models could be forged in China. You just have to do your research before purchase. FYI, I also have Epon and Miura and the EK is just as good and forgiving enough for a mid handicapper but definitely not for beginners.

Thanks alot Duffy that's some good news. I'll contact tourspec and see if I can find out where they were forged. I'm sure that probably makes a ton of difference in tolerance and precision.

My EK was forged in Japan and the CNC is forged in Taiwan. The V-CNC, the black one, is forged in China according to Geotech website.

Thats the one I was interested in buying. I'm not surprised with the cheaper price tag. Do you think they'll be alot worse being forged in china? I'm a little scared now, leaning towards a no go. Well then again alot if not most of are oem equipment in the states is made in china.

I personally do not have any concern with the Geotech regardless of where they are made. The quality is good uniformly IMO. I love my Blue Stream Proto hybrids and they are made in Taiwan or China and so are my GT hybrid and FW. When I bought my EK, they did not have the CNC or the black one yet so my purchase decision was very simple. It was the only set available at the time at my local fitter. The great thing about getting Geotech is you can custom your particular set. I bought a set of one time pull GD Tour AD 75 cheap first then look for a forged heads for it hence the EK.

Yeah I play stiff steel shafts and have my eye on a one time pulled set right now. They are in pristine condition and the price is very good. I'm of the exact mindset you were. I'm thinking very hard about the v-cnc black irons, I think they look amazing and would be a good set for me now and to be able to continue to improve with.
