New guy from OH

Just wanted to give a quick introduction...I have been frequenting golf forums for the last ~10 years (GEA, BSG, etc.), but only lurking (no posting) the past 5 or so. Finally decided it was time to join up here, as I really like the crowd and the forum. Lots of good info and discussion, as far as I can tell.

I'm 25, from Columbus, OH. As far as handicap, anywhere up to a 2, depending on how often I am able to play...the best I've ever gotten to is +1.8, iirc, when I was 20 or 21 and working at a golf course over the summers--being able to play for free with unlimited free range balls treated me well. I've been able to maintain my game fairly well, despite not playing very often, but I definitely haven't been able to afford to play (and thus, progress) as much as I'd like while in school.

As for new clubs, as I said above, money had been sparse, so I'm still using the sticks I spent $3k+ back when I was 20ish years old--but I am now looking to upgrade everything...hence me finally joining instead of just lurking.

My bag (Ping 4 Under, OSU colors):

-8.5 R5 TP Bxxx with Ion Diamana Blueboard 73 X, 2* open

-Cally Steelhead III 3 wood, Matte Blue Diamana Blueboard 83 X--very old, I hit it well and never spent the money to upgrade, besides the shaft.

-TM Rescue Mid 19* TP (off tour) with Fujikura Speeder HB110 X

-Mizuno Prototype MP37s (no stamps) off the tour, with X100's, 3-PW

-Cleveland 900 Series, stock, 54* with DG Spinner X100

-Vokey Spin Milled 60* off the tour (different stamping) with DG Spinner X100, custom sole grind, dual ported.

-Yes! Golf putter, 34"

I plan to upgrade my sticks very soon.

My game is as follows: never played with anyone longer off the tee than me, very streaky (can shoot even par with 6 or 7 birdies in a round), not quite as long with my irons but still decently long, room for lots of improvement from 120 and in, can be great or terrible around the greens.

I think that covers everything.

Over towards the New Albany area. Sort of by the big Urban Active gym on the corner of Hamilton. You have any idea where that is?

yup, right off of 161... I know exactly where that is, pass it on my way towards Morse for lunch sometimes (I work at the A&F HO).

Victorian village > Grandview if you don't mind the bump in rent. Knew a couple people that lived in that large complex right off of 670, wasn't a fan. I lived on 11th, 13th, and then Bexley when I was down there for school. Enjoy the time time you still have on campus and welcome .

thanks bro...your buddies lived in Watermark right off of 670, I'm guessing? pretty standard spot in Grandview for young professionals--5 pools, affordable rent, etc. I had a friend that lived there also, it was meh but the pools and on site gym was a plus (not to mention lots of chicks).

my determining factor will probably be rent, as you said, if nothing else I'll start in Grandview and move to VV when I can afford to. I'd rather live in Grandview and be able to afford to become a club member somewhere, than live in VV and have to pay range/green fees. I've also considered The Quarry...

my sister lived in Victorian Village, until she got married, and loved it. great area.

I've lived on 15th for 4 years, and 12th for one...gotta love campus, especially with Spring Quarter on the way haha. never a dull moment
