Please help me improve my swing

Backswing head dips

Hi

As you can see in the video it looks like my head dips massively on the backswing, this makes consistent striking difficult.

Does anyone have any idea why I am dipping my head and how I could stop doing it (e.g. good drills)?

most of the time your head drops because your hips sway back with the take away. keep your weight more centered until the arms are at at least eight o'clock

okay cheers I'll attempt to work on what you suggest at the range and let you know how it goes. Does anyone else have any suggestions on why I have this problem and how I can fix it?

Try bending over more in your set up. Your body is trying to put you in the right position at the top of your swing. If you look at your swing plane, it is really good. If you did not dip down, you would probably come under plane on your back swing and you would be fighting hooks.

your left hip dips on the backswing, you need to keep your weight more centered. I'd work on getting a wider stance(looks like your stance is really narrow), this should help stabilize your swing and not let your left hip dip. Your feet should be just outside of your shoulder width.

Thanks for the advice seuss, you've given me good advice before. Are you saying it may be a bad idea to try and stop dipping as it may cause me to hook the ball?

You advice is similar to 'Bridgestone's', and I think you're right, I will definitely try widening my stance, and maybe put a golf ball under my right heel during practice as I've heard this stops swaying. Thanks very much.

When I look at your swing, I am looking at the relationship between your left arm and shoulders at the top of the swing, they end up in a position that points perfectly just outside of your target line. When you say you are dipping, you are actually just increasing your spine angle downwards. If you have a chance, pull up a video of Scott Mccarron's swing, he starts in a more upright position much like yourself, but increases his spine angle as he swings back.
