prolaunch red vs accuflex icon v2

anybody have the experience with these 2 shafts? i am using the icon v2 in my 510 TP already and it has been the stalwart of my drivers, but now has become a long way 2nd to my J33P with the icon v2

 

i was hoping that the pro launch red might brig my ball flight down a bit

btw TP is 10.5 and i love this head and the J33P is 9.5

Sorry if this is slightly off your topic but I've been dying to give the ICON V2 a try in a componant driver head (I'm leaning toward the Icon V2 stiff in a 10 degree SMT Encore head), can you compare the flight you're getting with the Icon V2 to any other shafts you've used - maybe Grafalloy Blue or Aldila NV? I know the Icon V2 is pretty stout so I want to choose the highest loft head that I can get away with. Sorry again for the slight thread diversion.

no probs. i went thru 7 shafts b4 settling on the icon v2. my swing speed is abt 95-100 smooth tempo.

it does keep the ball down abit more than others i have tried.

didnt like the nv65 S it felt harsh

757 speeder TM TP kept the ball lower too but if i went hard at it, ball ballooned on me.

tried the Penley but didnt like the feel, again kinda harsh

nv75S isnt a bad coice...i use it inmy 3 and 7 woods

ICON V2is smooth and stout i am playing a Reg only but bcos i have made some swing changes the 510 TP is slightly higher ball flight, not ballooning and all carry

 

in 510 .75" tip 45" finished length 205 gram head cpms mitchel abt 242-245 depending hw tight you clamp(5") D2.5

J33 not sure how much tipping but the graphics on the shaft lines up with the 510. 198g head 45"finish length cpms 247 D1.5

Thank you Tariq, excellent info. I was also seriously considering an R flex in the Icon V2 because I know it's stout and my SS is pretty close to yours. I'm going to give the S a try first because I'll be playing it at 45.75 or 46 inch finished length and I want to use a higher lofted head, I'm now leaning toward an 11 degree. Aesthetically the Icon V2 is maybe the coolest looking shaft I've seen (next to my bright orange MFS65 :cheesy: ), I love the graphics and it looks like business coupled with a black wood head. imo if you go stiff flex, take in consideration of the BBGM, in other words how close the shaft gets to the ground. the closer it is the stiffer the shaft plays.

if you are going with an SMT head, they have a very deep bore...maybe up to 2". best bet if you can get some advise from accuflex themselves, Jody there is very friendly and helpful and the other person is Maike Tait himself. he doesa lot of heads with Accuflex shafts

 

its a great looking shaft. the newer ones have dots signifying the flex. 1 dot regular 2 dots stiff

great shaft i dont think you will regret it
