Nice Bag, actually works quite well

Just picked up a Bag Boy NXO Revolver to replace my stand bag. My stand bag was perfectly fine, but I had a very hard time fitting it on a push cart. Since fall golf=walking, I figured I'd buy a cart bag. After several excellent ideas from fellow 'wrxers, I decided to head to Golf Galaxy. I had my eye on the Bag Boy Revolver, and lo and behold they had one left, in red, and it was on sale $10 off. They didn't have any Titleist bags, but I checked out the Great Divider, the Cally X, and the Ogio Atlas. I just couldn't pass up the "cool/convenience" factor of the Bag Boy.

First impressions: As I was transferring everything from one bag to the other, I noticed that my stand bag definitely has more pockets than the Bag Boy. Not a huge deal, but a side pocket to hold a few extra balls would be nice. Also, the tee holder is pretty flimsy. Materials are top-notch, and the rain hood is the same tough nylon material as the rest of the bag, a nice touch.

There are 14 separate slots for your clubs, plus two places on either side to clip your putter or wedges. The divided slots have rubberized clips that hold your clubs in place, and believe me they were put to the test on Sunday. After a couple minutes of decided which was the easiest and best set up, all my clubs were securely in place. The top rotates very easily, and I must say it's more convenient than you'd think. Is it a "gimmick"? Maybe. But it works.

Impressions after playing a round on Sunday: The Bag Boy works as advertised. I actually rode, because I was pretty beat from work. There are two slots on the bag, you slide the cart belt through and it keeps the bag from shifting. Worked like a charm. The revolving top is convenient on a cart, I can only image it'd be really useful on a push cart. The clubs are separate and slightly raised, so it's easy to find the club you're lookin for right away. The course I played had NO cart paths, and the ground was incredibly bumpy. Aside from losing my putter (user, error..I didn't realize that the club should be "seated" in the bottom grip as well as in the clip) the clubs didn't jostle, bang, or get tangled.

Bottom Line: This bag is probably no better or worse than the Ogio, Great Divider, etc. While I really like the revolving feature, I'm sure some people would think it's unnecessary, or gimmicky. Still, I recommend this bag to anyone who is in the market for a quality cart bag with cool features and that little something extra to make it more useful.

Would like to add the only problem is the outside clip holders at the bottom of the bag will pop off if hit on the cart when loading into the cart. Bag Boy told me they were designed that way so they wouldn't break. You just slide it back into position and it locks on again. Pretty neat thinking ahead of time.

Just a quick update, I used the new bag on a pushcart for the first time this past weekend. It works marvelously on a push cart, even better than on a riding cart. It's easy to spin and get the club of choice instantly. I love this bag now!
