Has this ever happened to you?

Have you ever felt like you lost your game in a matter of hours? Yesterday I played the second best round of golf I've ever played, shot 76 on a course with a 72.5/144 rating and slope. Today I could not get out of my own way shot 83 on a course with a 70.5/118. Granted the greens had just been punched and that made for a few missed birdies and some three putts, but I was really struggling tee to green when yesterday it felt effortless. Even my playing partner was like what's wrong with you I've never seen you bugger shots like that up! I know I need to just forget about it but just curious what others do to get back on track after a crappy round?

I've had that happen before. Went out on a Saturday to do a practice round at my couse and shot a 68. Next day played in the skins game and Screwed up all over the place. Only hit 7 greens and ended with a bloody 77. Needless to say.......I lost my money. LOL To get over it, I just hit the range until the swing gets back in the groove. If that doesn't work, I don't play for a couple of days and normally that fixes it. I was playing about 9 rounds a week up until a month ago. You burn out quick doing that. LOL Just take a day or two off, go to the range and everything will fix itself. If not...next time you tee off, have a 6-pack in the cart. Calms your nerves real quick. LOL Ask anyone that plays with me. If I am in a money ga,e....even if it's an 8 am Tee Time. I pop my first beer right before we tee off :drinks::):cheesy::)

Not to be smart, but I'd love for my off day to be an 83.

I have had some days feel better than others, but I think it's all mental. Just forget about it and move on...only remember the good times.

Thanks! I've played todays course a half dozen times and my highest score was a 78 until today :drinks: I know in the grand scheme of things it's not that bad I just feel like my progress has made a u-turn.

You got it. LOL You gotta admit...After you add a few bottle of the aiming fluid the ball just goes straighter...Just have to be carefull. LOL I played in a tournment 2 years ago sponsored by Budweiser....Free beer everywhere. I mean, they had coolers on every tee box. By hole 15 I was asking my partners what ball to hit at as they were moving. LOL Thank god it was a scramble format. That was the first time I ever brought a DD to the golf course. LOL

back to back games for me are usually never consistent. I guess with a superb round, you put pressure on yourself to follow up with something at par or better, and that's when your own mind games do you in.What's worse is a complete dip in form for an extended period of time, where you start questioning your swing, your abilities and your equipment. Like now.

It all started when I got irritated with my long term playing partner, and once things start rubbing you the wrong way, boy does it rub. A most impressive disaster round peppered with sliced drives, topped woods, shanked irons, sprayed chips and 4 putts left me with a score of 108, a far cry from the 85-90 I was averaging for the last 3 months.

Subsequent 2 games have left me with a 97 and a 101.I'm at a lost as to what do to now. I seem to be hitting really well in the range, but the moment I step onto the course things fall apart.

Man, this really sucks :drinks:

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
