My First ever EAGLE!

@ Tobacco Road GC, NC
I'm sure there are plenty of people that have gotten eagles and etc, but
this was my first eagle and a pretty tough hole to do it at. It was at Tobacco
Road GC near by Pinehurt in NC. It was hole #13, which is the second hardest
hole at the GC. It is 536 yards and I ripped my drive and only had 120 yards
left for my second shot. Pulled my shot a little bit leaving a roller coaster putt
over a ridge about 25-30 feet away. And sank the putt in for my first ever
EAGLE!!! It was raining also, but that just made my day and will never forget.

Here's the link to the description of the hole.

Also, the slope was 142 and the rating was 70.8.

Congrats - what a great hole to make an eagle on!! I am going to guess you cut your drive to the right, across the trees to shorten the hole. That being said, any approach that reaches that green in 2 is very impressive. The mounds that guard it are very intimidating, making it pretty much a blind shot except for the far right of the green.

Well done!!

That's exactly what I was thinking. I had the chance to play 36 there earlier this fall, and after the first 18, I was tempted to try to fly that corner. I suspected it could be done, especially with a little helping wind.

For everyone that hasn't played this magnificant Strantz course, that hole is a gem. From the tee, you're looking at a fairway that's 150 yards wide, because the hole almost moves 90 degrees about 220 yards out from the Ripper tee. There's a stand of trees on the right that you'd have to carry, but doing so would leave you about 150 to a blind shot to the green, which has these two enormous mounds guarding the front. The green is fairly small...like a minature split green.

Excellent eagle on that hole.

-3, was -3 at end of front nine. Bogeied 10 and 11, so back down to -1. Than eagled 13th hole to go back to -3 and birdied one of the par 3's to get to -4, but bogied 18th to end up w/ -3.

Also, I've always wanted to experience playing in rain and it was hard to get a grip but it was exciting at the same time.

Let's just say I'm in school and don't get to play much but have been practicing alot recently to get my distance and consistency. I don't play well when I don't drive well, and I happend to click and had a good driving day for a good score. I mean two days later, I played and let's just say I didn't play any where near 4 under.

I made another Eagle today and lipped out for Eagle on the next hole!!! :)

I have two par 5's back to back at my home course and both are shorter- 515 and 490. Both were playing down wind and I crushed my first drive 355ish. Hit 9 iron into the first par 5 to 12 feet and drained it. Then I cut the corner a little on the next and hit PW to 15 feet but lipped out. :pimp:

Anyone ever have back to back Eagles???
