Are they forged in Japan?

Just a curious question for those in the know about JDM forgings. A few months back I purchased a brand new set of Z-TX's the first version 2010 models. I know that in the past Srixon was known for their 6 stages or steps of forging that they did in house or themselves. Not sure if that is fact or not. I've read some other threads throughout the site, but no real concrete answers. The 2010 head was supposed to be the same in Japan and the US 1025 carbon steel. Does anyone have any further knowledge of where these are forged? Thanks!

Great question, I've heard from some sources here that Srixon did their own forging in house; but I'm not sure if that would make sense for them have their own forging machinery for such a small production; unless Dunlop did some other tools that would justify their investment on the equipment. I got the new ZT-2 and I think the heads were Made in China, heard from a source that the new Cleveland irons were 1025 Endo Forged in China, but I'm just not sure Endo forges in 1025. Every offering i've seen out there claiming to be endo forged are 1020. Fourteen irons are endo forged in China and are 1020 too. So short answer I have no clue where that are forging Srixon, would love to know more information about this.

Endo does not have a foundry in China, they have one in Thailand though, except for the one in Japan. And Endo does forge many heads in 1025, the 1020 is actually more rare for them. Their house brand, Epon, is forged from 1020 but that is less common.

The only reason I thought Endo had a foundry in China was because I've always heard that Fourteen's were forged by Endo, and on Fourteen's website they say the heads were made in China but assembled in Japan. http://www.fourteengolf.com/product/detail.shtml?P=80 (bottom of the page)

And most of the clubs that claim to be Endo forged like Tourstage, Yamaha, PRGR, Royal Collection are S20C aka 1020. So i thought they just didn't forge S25 aka 1025

588 irons are endo forged in thailand, and the wedges are fukishima(sp?) in china. That is where the china thailand confusion is comng from most likely. Its easy to confuse.

What about the Srixon Z-TX heads were they forged in Fukishima too?

Well, I just got my brand new set of Z-TX 2 irons today. Stock with DG 300 and GP Tour Velvet BCT cord grips, heads and grips in plastic and in a sealed factory Cleveland/Srixon box. On the end of the box it has a sticker with what's in the box and the date 03/07/2012. Pretty cool coincidence since my birthday is March 7! Anyway, after opening it up I believe I can say that these are the coolest/sharpest looking Srixons I have seen in person. They have a retail sticker on the 6 iron that reads: Head in Thailand, shaft in USA, assembled in USA. So, I can assume/conclude that these heads are forged by endo at their Thailand plant or maybe Srixon has a forging plant there or something. I don't think I'm going to play them right away as I have some plans to customize them a bit with a new shaft that is kind of undecided at this time and probably some 588 wedges to go along. Will continue to play my CG16 tours for a bit, but not sure I will be able to hold out! Some good prices out there for these on Ebay if anyone is game.

I hit the range today and noted I was hitting a little on the toe side today.
I could never get away with that with my Hogan or Mizuno blades.
These z-tx CB irons are amazing, wherever they are made.
I am about 1/2 a club longer than the blades.

Do the Z-TX's have a consistent flight? My JPX 800 pros tend to have too much of a sweet spot and I am looking for something with a little more consistency!

The Z-tx are very forgiving and they have a very consistent flight for me. they do fly on the higher side, so I paired them with a TT DGx200 and they are my favorite irons I have ever played.
