4 Anyone That Wanted Forged Ping's W/ Less Offset

Nike came up with an answer
in my 19 years of playing golf, I have had probably 60+ sets of irons, but the only ones that lasted an appreciable amount of time were Diawa Blades & MP-14's. I have always loved Ping as a company and I have tried many sets with little success, I always seems to get hot spots and the offset, even in the i3 blades threw me off (I am sure mostly mental) and I was unable to hit cuts. My latest purchase were the MP-32's a nice club, but to me it has an identify crisis, it looks like a muscle back, but plays like a cavity. I am not sure if this is a good thing, the sole was strange it lacked the feel of the Mp-14/Mp-29, and it too wanted to go left on me. Playing the worst I have played in over 6 years, I decided to try something new. Get a forgiving forged cavity back with minimal offset and not worry about what shafts are in 'em. I was looking at a set of Hogan Apex Edge Pro's, the MacGregor's (Black insert) and then I stumbled upon Nike ProCombo OS; Oversize irons?, wait with my index and experience I should be picking up the new PC Tours, right? But I stuck with my plan demo'd the PC OS and I was blow away, even with the BS stock shafts, normally I use either DGS400 or TFR 6.5's softstepped. I have since played three 18's with them and have been to the range 4 times and I am impressed. These deliver a high, but strong ballflight, feel great and are more forgiving then the last Callaway ProSeries I had.

I guess what I am saying just because you shoot in the 70's and have been playing a long time, don't always go by what the company says of what irons are for what type of player.

I am sure these will not last forever, as I like to buy new clubs, but it has opened my eyes to different choices.

they are awesome aren't they...

they are not a hack or GI iron...

Both Immelman and Sabbatini play them..

I like these even better then my TM LT's from last year.

I am shocked with their performance, I do not think that they get much press, but as soon as they put the OS on them, I am sure it scared some people away.

I'm headed to a demo day tomorrow night and am looking forward to hitting these. I was also looking to give the LT2's and MP-60 a swing.

Great write up spring70. I've got a set of MP60's w/ Rifle 6.5's due to arrive any day and now you've got me wondering about these Nike OS's that I've always seen in the shop, but never actually took the time to look at.

Well TM decided not to show up tonight, but I did spend some time with the Pro Combo OS's. I really like them. They feel good, and look good. Thinking that I will pull the triger on them just need to figure out what to do for a shaft now. The speed step felt good, but hit just a tad to high.

I am still wondering if the shafts on mine need switched out or not, but I figure that I'll play em stock until the end of the season (around late Oct.) :D

I am thinking of DGSL's
